The Big Angry

They have EVERY RIGHT TO BE!!!

It has been FOUR FLIPPIN' YEARS!

Whadda ya mean it AIN'T REBUILT YET?

"Residents of New Orleans losing patience with Obama; Many feel abandoned by government" by Michael D. Shear, Washington Post | October 15, 2009

Hey, EVERYBODY IS!!!! When you get GEORGE W. BUSH and HIS THIRD TERM as CHANGE, things like that are bound to happen.

WASHINGTON - Even before Air Force One touches down in New Orleans this afternoon, President Obama is discovering the burdens of rebuilding a city that feels abandoned by the federal government.

What was the TAXPAYER-FUNDED CARBON FOOTPRINT on that, because I'D RATHER HE NOT then!!

And FORGET HIS BURDENS!! What about the PEOPLE HE ALLEGEDLY SERVES?

Four years after Hurricane Katrina, swaths of New Orleans remain devastated from the winds and floods that tore through the city. More than 65,000 homes remain abandoned. There is no public hospital. The levees that keep back the Gulf are still vulnerable.

So WHO STOLE all the MONEY!?

Residents remain furious
about former President George W. Bush’s handling of the crisis and its aftermath, but their patience with Obama is evaporating rapidly....

They are JUST LIKE the REST OF US!!!

**************

Civic leaders grumble that the president’s five-hour visit to the hurricane- and flood-damaged area - his first since taking office - is not sufficient to communicate his concern. “A town hall event and a mystery stop? That’s it?’’ the Times-Picayune editorialized last week before the trip was finalized and a school tour added. “The White House plan for President Barack Obama’s first post-election visit to New Orleans seems to be lacking in substance and fun.’’

Sounds like BUSH'S TOURS, don't it?

Criticism is also aimed at the president by residents of Mississippi and southwest Louisiana, where storm-weary residents wonder aloud why New Orleans is the only stop on Obama’s schedule before a quick hop to San Francisco for a DNC fund-raiser.

Again, what is the CARBON FOOTPRINT on that HOP with MY TAX DIME, 'eh?

SCREW your LECTURING on GLOBAL GREENHOUSE FART MIST!

The White House calls the criticism unfounded, noting that as a candidate and senator, Obama visited the Gulf repeatedly. “The president has been to New Orleans five times since Katrina, and has done most of the things people are saying they want him to do,’’ said spokesman Nick Shapiro. “What he hasn’t done is hold a public event where he can hear directly from the people.’’

As a candidate, Obama used the city’s plight as a rallying cry for change, repeatedly citing what he said was an inadequate response to the needs of the people there by the Bush administration.

“I promise you that when I’m in the White House, I will commit myself every day to keeping up Washington’s end of the bargain,’’ Obama said at Tulane University in February last year. “This will be a priority of my presidency.’’

Yeah, every day he has another agenda-pushing priority, depending on who he is talking to!

But like Bush, whose presidency was marred by the federal response to Katrina and its aftermath, Obama is faced with the politically sensitive challenge of helping citizens in the New Orleans area and the other Gulf residents recover while managing an economic downturn that affects the entire country.

So, cut 'em some slack, New Orleans. It has ONLY BEEN FOUR YEARS!

The collapse of the housing market in New Orleans is mirrored by a similar crash across the rest of the country. The disappearance of jobs in the city following the hurricane has been eclipsed by a nationwide employment crisis. “The issue here is what happens after his trip,’’ said Amy Liu, the deputy director of the metropolitan policy program at the Brookings Institution.

“What does the administration do from now until the five-year anniversary of the storm? It’s a landmark date. It’s a natural reflection point to say, ‘boy, did all those public investments put New Orleans on the path to recovery?’ ’’

So how was he received (through the MSM prism, of course)
:

"Obama greeted by ‘feisty crowd’ in struggling New Orleans; Residents still frustrated with rebuilding effort" by Michael D. Shear, Washington Post | October 16, 2009

NEW ORLEANS - In his first visit since taking office, President Obama sought yesterday to reassure frustrated New Orleans residents that his administration is working aggressively to repair the hurricane-damaged city and return people to their jobs and homes.

Sort of like, George Bush and HIS GOVERNMENT, right?

Not the AMERICAN PEOPLES GOVERNMENT, the DICTATOR'S GOVERNMENT!!

And it has been FOUR YEARS!!!

Speaking at a town hall meeting near the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, Obama recounted what he said was good progress during the first nine months of his administration. But he was quickly put on the defensive by a resident who said he was still frustrated by the slow pace of the economic and physical recovery around him.

“I expected as much from the Bush administration,’’ said Gabriel Bordenave, 29. “But why are we still being nickeled and dimed?’’

Obama responded that his government is “working as hard as we can as quickly as we can,’’ but he complained about complications in working with state and local governments to deliver resources to rebuild hospitals, schools, and other facilities.

Oh, HIS GOVERNMENT, huh? Not OUR GOVERNMENT!!

Remember Bush catching a lot of flak for saying MY GOVERNMENT?!

“I wish I could just write a check,’’ he said.

Well, YOU DID for BANKS!!!!

“You say, why not? There’s this whole thing about the Constitution.’’

Oh, LOOK at THIS!

Through the TORTURE, MASS-MURDERING WARS, and LOOTING he has ALL of a SUDDEN found the CONSTITUTION!

Related: Obama To Keep Patriot Act Powers

Yep, constitution, uh-huh!

He added that in Washington, “everyone will attack you for spending money, unless you are spending it on them.’’

Oh, then he adds an insult for good measure.

Obama received a warm and raucous welcome from the crowd, which booed loudly when the president introduced Republican Governor Bobby Jindal and again when he introduced Democratic mayor, C. Ray Nagin.

Translation: New Orleans residents are in an ANGRY, ANTI-INCUMBENT MOOD!

“You guys are a feisty crowd,’’ the president cracked. So was Obama, who repeatedly diverted from prepared remarks to offer sharp-edged warnings aimed at his adversaries in Washington who oppose his health care efforts....

Oh, so he TURNED IT into a POLITICAL PITCH for his HEALTH TAX, 'eh?

Obama pushed back against local criticism that his trip here, with only two stops, was too brief, noting that there have been repeated visits by his Cabinet to the Gulf region....

And then he was OFF to 'Frisco on YOUR "GLOBAL-WARMING" TAX DIME, 'murkn!
