Clinton Gets Toasted in Ireland

Does Hitlery have a drinking problem?

"Clinton pledges support for N. Ireland peace plan" by Matthew Lee, Associated Press | October 12, 2009

DUBLIN - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday pledged continued US support for the Northern Irish peace process, and said those who continued to exacerbate tension and violence “are out of step and out of time.’’

**************

Clinton began a five-day trip to Europe and Russia on Saturday. On her way out of Dublin, Clinton stopped at Bewley’s Cafe, drawing large crowds on Grafton Street, and took a few sips of coffee before ordering a half pint of Harp lager at McDaids pub....

Is HILLARY CLINTON an ALCOHOLIC, and would the MSM cover it (remember, they hid Bush's drinking)?!!!

So that explains her diplomatic demeanor, 'eh?

In a separate development yesterday, the Irish National Liberation Army, an IRA splinter group responsible for some of the most notorious killings of the Northern Ireland conflict, said it is formally renouncing violence and plans to hand over weapons to disarmament officials

Eleven years after calling a cease-fire, the outlawed INLA said it would observe “exclusively peaceful means’’ and cooperate with General John de Chastelain, the Canadian leader of an international commission that oversees the disarmament of underground armies operating in both parts of Ireland. However, the INLA did not explicitly promise to disarm fully nor specify when the process would start.

The INLA-linked Irish Republican Socialist Party made the announcement at its annual parade near Dublin in honor of their movement’s founder, Seamus Costello. INLA officials said the announcement was not timed to coincide with Clinton’s visit.

Northern Ireland’s largely successful peace process already has yielded IRA disarmament and a Catholic-Protestant government. But British and Irish security officials downplayed the value of words from the INLA, an alliance of small gangs that long have turned on one another for control of criminal rackets....

Yeah, what criminals would be raising hell there?

And NOW that they VOTED FOR, the "criminal terrorists" are GIVING UP the FIGHT?

"In Belfast, Clinton seeks power-sharing progress" by Mary Beth Sheridan, Washington Post | October 13, 2009

BELFAST - US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton made an emotional appeal to Northern Ireland’s lawmakers yesterday, urging them to overcome the final hurdles in the peace process that has transformed their blood-soaked land.

Tell it to ISRAEL, you embarrassment!

Clinton was bringing her star power to an issue she has been deeply involved with since her days as first lady, when then-President Clinton helped broker the 1998 Good Friday peace accords. That pact is credited with ending the religious violence that had caused more than 3,600 deaths in Northern Ireland since 1969.

Oh, she is a CELEBRITY, is she?

I expect more MSM fawning presently:

But the US secretary of state expressed concern yesterday that peace could be still undermined by the economic crisis, by the assassinations that still occur occasionally, and by bickering among politicians about the last steps in the peace agreement....

And WHO might be behind that, huh?

While only a small number of dissident paramilitary groups remain, she said, their actions “threaten the security of every family in Ireland. Moving forward with the process will leave them stranded on the wrong side of history.’’

Is that CONDOLEEZZA RICE talking or what?!!!!!!!!

Clinton spoke from a podium in the well of the 108-member assembly, surrounded by people who played major political roles during what were known as The Troubles.

On one side of the paneled assembly hall, sitting in the front row, was Gerry Adams, leader of the Catholic party Sinn Fein, which was closely linked to the Irish Republican Army during the years of bloodshed. On the other side sat a stooped, white-haired Ian Paisley, the longtime leader of Sinn Fein’s nemesis -the Protestant-dominated Democratic Unionist Party.

At the end of her speech, legislators rose in a standing ovation for Clinton, the highest-ranking politician to address the body since it was created nearly three years ago....

Pfffffffffttt!
