Taking Care of Business

Let's start at the top and work our way down, shall we?

I thought this might warm your heart, put-upon and suffering American:

In the Lap of Luxury

"Luxury spending springs up 29% in third quarter" by Bloomberg News | October 18, 2009

WASHINGTON - Spending in the United States on luxury goods and services spurted 29 percent in the third quarter from the previous three months, as consumers with the highest incomes unleashed pent-up demand, according to Unity Marketing.

Is that what banksters did with the tax loot? Partied?

Spending among 1,067 consumers with average annual income of $228,800 rose....

The increase was driven by consumers with the highest income levels, starting at $250,000 a year, said Pam Danziger, Unity’s Marketing’s president. Spending was strongest in the home, travel, and dining segments, she said. The wealthy curbed purchasing earlier this year because of Wall Street job cuts, lower home values, and volatile financial markets.

“No question that this quarter’s spending increase is good news for luxury marketers,’’ Danziger said. “Many affluent consumers returned after sitting on the sidelines for a year. However, the richest are few in number, 2.5 million households, so competition will be fierce to win their attention.’’

And YOU KNOW WHAT YOU GET, 'murkn -- now open up (sob)!

WHO CARES about YOUR ATTENTION, huh?

Certainly not your DEAF LEADERS who DEFY YOUR WISHES at NEARLY EVERY TURN!

US luxury sales rose 3.4 percent to $891 million in September....

And those are LUXURIES, not NECESSITIES, suffering American!!!

Hey, at least SOMEONE is doing good, huh?

Manufacturing Excuses

"The building blocks of new industries are missing" by Robert Weisman, Globe Staff | October 18, 2009

.... While the outsourcing of manufacturing has caused millions of middle-class jobs to evaporate over the past generation, millions of other well-paying jobs have been created in emerging sectors such as high technology, wireless communications, and life sciences.

That is SUCH CRAP, and I AM TIRED OF IT!

See:

MSM Manufacturing an Economic Recovery

MSM Manufacturing an Economic Recovery (Part II)

So who you pimping for today, Glob?

Individual lives have been disrupted, but the US economy as a whole has remained vibrant and continued to expand - until recently, at least....

I am SO SICK of their INSULTS.

Yeah, MILLIONS of LIVES and families have been RUINED, BUT the LOOTERS have made out great, so all's well!

"Manufacturing extends impressive comeback" by Bloomberg News | October 17, 2009

Every time you turn a page it's another lie (sigh).

WASHINGTON - Industrial production in the nation rose more than anticipated in September, putting manufacturing at the forefront of the emerging economic recovery.

Said the lying government, right?

The 0.7 percent increase in production at factories, mines and utilities exceeded every forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News and followed gains of 1.2 percent in August and 0.9 percent in July, Federal Reserve figures showed yesterday.

Yup, 100% pure bovine excrement.

The recent burst of activity on factory floors, spurred in part by a rebound at automakers, will probably give way to more moderate and sustainable gains in coming months as companies rebuild inventories and exports grow. The improvement has yet to generate jobs, one reason consumers remain anxious and Fed policy makers say they will keep interest rates low for a long time.

Then it is NOT IMPROVEMENT!

“Manufacturing is turning around from deep recession to strong growth in a very short time,’’ said Dean Maki, economist at Barclays Capital Inc. “It’s going to be one of the important supports to growth.’’

Sigh.

Then tomorrow they will tell us we lost more jobs, and the alleged recovery will be choppy and slow (if at all).

And I guess you can send the Comcast workers to the factory, huh?

Of course, it must be their fault:

"Shortage of jobs, but no shortage of help" by Elaine Varelas, Globe Correspondent | October 18, 2009

.... Finding a new opportunity is challenging in the best of times and involves a huge commitment on your part....

Yeah, so if you DON'T FIND one of the disappearing slave jobs it is YOUR FAULT, worker!

Here's another job you are getting (and not):

"Obama pledges to explore options to create more jobs

SPRINGFIELD, Va. - Standing at the site of a highway project funded by his economic stimulus plan, President Obama said yesterday he is committed to exploring all avenues to create jobs. Obama said his administration is going to keep going until “every single American in this country who’s looking for work is going to be able to get the kind of well-paying job that supports their families.’’

I, you know.... it's the same crap and garbage coming out of his mouth as Bush, so....

Obama spoke from the top of a large mound of dirt and gravel at the Fairfax County Parkway Extension highway project, Virginia’s largest stimulus-funded project. Obama first visited the site in February, when work was just beginning, and said the progress that has been made since then is just one example of the work that is being done to turn the economy around.

Slow Saturday Special: State Slow on Stimulus Spending

And PLUGGING BUDGET DEFICITS and PAYING OFF BANKS is NOT STIMULUS!

The site is one of 8,000 road and bridge projects approved under the $787 billion economic stimulus bill Obama signed just after taking office. Construction is under way on nearly 5,000 of those projects. Obama said many are coming in 10 percent to 20 percent under budget, which will allow the government to invest in more projects.

That would be the FIRST TIME in GOVERNMENT HISTORY!!

Now MAYBE you could APPLY that ACUMEN to the COST-OVERRUNNING WAR LOOTERS?

Although some businesses have credited the stimulus bill with preventing layoffs, the national unemployment rate stands at 9.8 percent. Many economists have said unemployment could continue to rise.

All he has stimulated are higher interest payments on borrowed money and the ire of the American people.

Ah, maybe you are better of not working

Sick of Work

Who ain't? You would be sick if you were not; who likes being a slave?

"Sick, on the job; Nation’s health suffers as trying economic times ratchet stress up at work" by Maggie Jackson, Globe Correspondent | October 18, 2009

.... the health of the American worker is appalling, and declining.

As the national health care debate heats up, a timely report from the nonprofit Families and Work Institute details the worrying effect of a stressed-out, time-strapped, overworked era.

And WHICH MANAGERS DEVELOPED THAT KIND of SOCIETY, 'eh?

And WHO HELPED THEM every step of the way, MSM?

Too many of us are fat, sick, sleepless, and inactive.

SPEAK FOR YOURSELF, insulting puke!!!

Just 28 percent of US workers say their health is excellent, down from 34 percent six years ago. And businesses are suffering as a result, not simply from rising costs for health care.

They are frikkin' incredible!

Article allegedly about WORKERS' HEALTH and the Glob spins it into BUSINESS SUFFERING!!!

I think READING the GLOB is HAZARDOUS to the HEALTH!! I think my ANGRY, PAINED POSTINGS prove that!

Workers in poor health are less likely to be loyal, engaged, and satisfied with their jobs, the findings show.

And no sig heils, either!

As we might suspect, health insurance makes a difference. Those with coverage are more likely to report sleeping well, being less stressed, and feeling in excellent health than those without it, according to the report....

That is the BIGGEST ARGUMENT for SINGLE-PAYER I EVER SAW!
