"Missiles rain again at Pakistan border; 13 killed in area used by militants" by Rasool Dawar, Associated Press | January 7, 2010

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Suspected US drone missile strikes killed 13 people in Pakistan’s volatile northwest yesterday, the latest of five such attacks in the past week targeting an area believed to be a hide-out for militants involved in a suicide attack on a CIA base in Afghanistan.

Getting 2010 of to a rollicking start, 'eh. Obomber?

US drone missiles slaughtered 700 Pakistani civilians in 2009

Um, no, washing your hands in blood doesn't make them clean.

:-(

The strikes highlight Washington’s growing reliance on unmanned aircraft....

Which = MORE MASS-MURDERING SLAUGHTER!

US military commanders are especially concerned about the Haqqani network, an Afghan Taliban group with links to Al Qaeda that operates from Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal area. Analysts suspect the group played a role in the Dec. 30 attack that killed seven CIA employees in Khost province, just across the border from North Waziristan.

You now, I keep hearing that name!

"Haqqani.... credited with introducing suicide bombing to the region.... cultivated as a "unilateral" asset of the CIA and received tens of thousands of dollars in cash for his work.... He may have had a role in expediting the escape of Osama Bin Laden.... In July 2008, CIA officials confronted Pakistan officials with evidence of ties between Inter-Services Intelligence and Haqqani. Haqqani has been accused of involvement in the 2008 Indian embassy bombing in Kabul...."

Just like all the rest!

Since the attack, aircraft believed to be US drones have carried out an unusually high number of strikes in North Waziristan. The tactic is part of a larger trend of President Obama using the unmanned craft more frequently in Pakistan than had his predecessor.

Yup, NO MORE GEORGE BUSH to BLAME; you know, the "predecessor(?)!

Yup, the BLOOD is ALL ON YOU, bastard!

In the first attack yesterday, a suspected drone fired two missiles at a house in the Datta Khel region of North Waziristan, killing seven people, said two intelligence officials.

Good Lord!

A second strike occurred as people were retrieving bodies from the rubble of the house, killing six more, said the officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Yeah, the CIA really showed them!

Four foreigners, including two Arabs, were among the dead; it was unclear whether they were militants or civilians, according to another pair of intelligence officials, speaking on condition of anonymity for the same reason. The identities of the others killed were unknown.

Then it is MURDER, ain't it?!!!!!

US officials rarely discuss the missile strikes but say they have killed several top Al Qaeda operatives.

Yup, CIA talks, doesn't talk. Who would trust a thing they say?

Mahmood Shah, a former security chief for Pakistan’s semiautonomous tribal area, said he believes the drone strikes over the past week are retaliation for the suicide attack against the CIA. The Americans “have concluded that the Haqqani network is causing major problems in eastern Afghanistan, and they seem determined to hit the network, so we should expect more frequent attacks in North Waziristan,’’ Shah said.

This guy is a paid flak to get the "Pakistan perspective" in your *ewish War Daily.

I'm not doubting the increased attacks; however the justification is crap.

He is ONE OF OURS, remember?

Analysts say it would have been difficult for the suicide attack at the remote CIA base to have been carried out without at least tacit support from the Haqqanis, who control large swaths of Khost province. Any other militants who operate in Khost, including Al Qaeda, do so only with the permission or cooperation of the Haqqanis. The Jordanian man who blew himself up duped agents into granting him entry by leading them to think he would help track down Al Qaeda’s number two leader, Ayman al-Zawahri, officials have said. Humam Khalil Abu-Mulal al-Balawi, a 32-year-old doctor, was allowed to enter without being closely searched and then blew himself up during a briefing, killing seven CIA employees and a Jordanian intelligence agent.

The network targeted since that attack is led by Jalaluddin Haqqani, who was a respected commander and key US and Pakistani ally in resisting the Soviet Union after its 1979 invasion of Afghanistan.

See? OUR GUY!

Haqqani, believed to be in his 60s or older, is said to be ill now, and his son Sirajuddin has taken over the network. Some analysts suspect Pakistan’s reluctance to go after the Haqqanis is driven by its desire to use the group as a future asset to influence Afghanistan and stay ahead of its bigger regional rival, India, after the Americans withdraw.

Oh, I JUST SMELLED a REGIME CHANGE, didn't you?

But Shah, the former tribal security chief, said that even if Pakistan wanted to target the Haqqanis, its ability is limited by the shortage of intelligence sources in North Waziristan.

CIA has spies crawling all over the place! Can't swing a dead cat around without hitting a spy up there!

Pakistani intelligence officials have said that at least 30 of their operatives have been killed over the past year in North Waziristan. Shah said the lack of intelligence makes it more difficult to choose accurate targets for the drones.

Translation: Innocents are being butchered!

--more--"

Is my printed paper holding anything back?

ISLAMABAD -- "Pakistan's intelligence ability is almost zero in the border region because of the high rate of killing spies," said Shah. "In such situations, these attacks are proving counterproductive and producing more militants."

Why CHOP IT THERE of ALL PLACES?

Pakistan's government publicly condemns the drone strikes as violations of its sovereignty, but many analysts believe the two countries have a secret deal allowing them.....

And THAT REALLY BUMS ME OUT!

For the government of Pakistan to cooperate with this... ugh!

Growing violence in Pakistan has not been confined to the country's volatile northwest.

A suicide bomber struck an army facility in the Pakistan-controlled portion of Kashmir on Wednesday, killing four soldiers and wounding 11 others in an area where such attacks are rare, said the prime minister of the region, Raja Farooq Haider.

And CUI BONO?

You know what I'm thinking!

Yeah, I'll bet CIA didn't like these comments, either:

Sorry, but THAT LOOKS like a MISSILE STRIKE, not a "suicide bomb!"

I mean WHERE is the RUBBLE even?!!!

The chimney(?) in the middle of the frame?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan prime minister said yesterday that his country has been more successful at battling a Taliban-led insurgency than Western forces in Afghanistan, a bold criticism at a time when the United States is pushing Islamabad for more help.

Yeah, we don't like hearing that, even if true!

The comments could be particularly aggravating to the Obama administration, which is frustrated that Pakistan has not done more to target Taliban militants launching cross-border attacks on US and NATO troops in Afghanistan. Such help is deemed critical to the Western coalition’s success. “The success of our efforts stands out in sharp contrast to what the coalition forces in neighboring Afghanistan have been able to achieve over the past nine years,’’ Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said while presiding over a meeting of senior military personnel and politicians who deal with defense issues.

Gilani pointed to recent anti-Taliban military operations in the country’s northwest near the Afghan border as evidence of Pakistan’s success. “Over the recent months, we have registered considerable success against terrorists and militants,’’ Gilani said. “Law enforcement actions in Swat, Malakand, FATA, and most notably in South Waziristan have been executed with precision and in record time.’’

This guy get a set of balls for Christmas, or.... ??

South Waziristan, in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Area, was the Pakistani Taliban’s main stronghold in the country before the army launched a major ground offensive in mid-October. But Pakistani officials have used the recent offensives as evidence that the country has its hands full battling local Taliban militants waging war against the government and doesn’t have the capacity to expand its military operations as demanded by the United States.

Yes, we hear and read so little about those offensives it is offensive.

Some analysts believe the Pakistani government’s reluctance is also driven by a belief that Afghan Taliban militants with whom it has a long history could serve as useful proxies in Afghanistan if coalition efforts fail and foreign forces withdraw.

Yeah, they do; just ask America's
TTP allies!

Gilani countered criticism that his country is not doing enough to help the West. “Restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan is a matter of direct and legitimate interest to Pakistan,’’ he said. “We will continue to play a constructive role in this regard.’’

Equals AmeriKa LEAVING! NOW!!!!

No more missiles, no more bombs, no more CIA crawling around!

As for the constructive role,
I dunno!

Militants have responded to Pakistan’s most recent offensive in South Waziristan with a wave of retaliatory violence that has killed more than 600 people since mid-October, including a bombing on New Year’s Day in the southern city of Karachi that killed at least 44 people.

When the AmeriKan MSM repeats itself or brags a lot, you can
smell the agenda-pushing false flag fart.

Taliban on a Tear in Pakistan

And get this:

Authorities said yesterday that the blast targeting a Shi’ite Muslim procession in Karachi was caused by a homemade bomb, not by a suicide bomber as was first reported.

Sigh.

“After scientific tests in a laboratory, we have a consensus opinion that this is not a suicide attack,’’ said police officer Shafqat Malik. “It was a remote-controlled improvised explosive device that had a dual trigger.’’

The bomb was hidden in a box installed along the road for Muslims to insert torn-up verses of Islam’s holy book, the Koran, that they find on the ground to preserve their sanctity, Malik said.

The Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.

Yeah, except:

"
militants used the city as a haven to raise money and to rest.... the Taliban are not known for launching sectarian attacks"

Yeah, the "Taliban terrorists"
bombed their vacation spot, uh-huh!

Pfffft!

I guess keeping our CIA spies/patsies didn't help matters, either.

"5 US ‘jihadists’ say they weren’t planning attacks" by Pamela Constable, Washington Post | January 5, 2010

Hey, the
Washington Post, the CIA 's newspaper.

So this is the
straight skinny from the from the horse's mou..., well, try the other end....

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Five Virginia men arrested in Pakistan indicated yesterday that they plan to fight terrorism charges that Pakistani police are recommending by using a strategy seen in US courtrooms: that they were preparing for jihad but not planning any terrorist attacks.

Related:

"Pakistani police said they plan to ask a court Monday to charge five Americans arrested in early December with terrorism, and will seek life sentences against them. The young Muslim men, who are from the Washington, D.C., area, were captured in Sargodha in a case that has spurred fears that Westerners are traveling to Pakistan to join militant groups."

Oh, they REEK of CIA, readers!!!!!

Pakistan Being Prepared As Next Patsy

Yeah, I think they know what they got -- and the CIA wants 'em back, right?

Thought they were getting them at first.

The men told a Pakistani court that they had neither sought nor established contact with extremist groups, and traveled to the region only “to help the helpless Muslims,’’ according to their Pakistani attorney. As they entered the courtroom, one of the men, Ramy Zamzam, told reporters: “We are not terrorists. We are jihadists, and jihad is not terrorism.’’

No formal charges were filed during the hearing against the young men, who include two Pakistani-Americans, two Yemeni-Americans, and one Egyptian-American. Pakistani police officials reiterated that they intend to seek life sentences for the five under anti-terrorism laws, and said their investigative report and recommendations for legal charges would be filed by today.

The five Americans were returned to prison after the midday session Sargodha. Another hearing was set for Jan. 18. But the judge released Khalid Farooq Chaudhry - the father of one Pakistani-American defendant, Umar Chaudhry - saying there was insufficient evidence to keep him detained. All six were arrested at the elder Chaudhry’s home in Sargodha in mid-December.

In addition to Pakistani authorities, the FBI is investigating the suspects’ possible terrorist ties, and officials have said the Justice Department is likely to consider charges including material support of terrorist organizations. But any decision on whether to prosecute the men through the US system is weeks, or possibly months, away....

If we ever get them back.

And they MUST be CIA because U.S is not raising too big a stink!

Of course, Pakistan knows what this all gets them:

PARACHINAR, Pakistan - Roadside bombs struck two vehicles in Pakistan’s volatile northwest yesterday, killing a former irrigation minister and three others in one attack and two anti-Taliban tribal elders in the other.

Public officials and private citizens combating the growing Taliban-led insurgency in Pakistan have been frequent targets in a wave of violence that has killed more than 600 people in the past 2 1/2 months.... The Pakistani Army invaded South Waziristan in mid-October in an attempt to neutralize the Pakistani Taliban’s main stronghold in the country, but many militants fled the offensive and have been launching attacks elsewhere in the northwest. The Pakistani government has pledged it will persevere despite the violence but has resisted US calls to expand its offensive to target militants launching cross-border attacks against coalition troops in Afghanistan.

So let the missiles fly, right?

The United States has responded by increasing drone missile strikes in Pakistan’s tribal areas, including a suspected attack yesterday in North Waziristan that killed at least five people, according to intelligence officials.

Five more unique souls lifted from this world, and more blood on Obomber's hands. He's going to be swimming in it soon.

Hours earlier, a roadside bomb struck a vehicle in the Hangu district of North West Frontier Province, killing the former irrigation minister, Ghaniur Rehman, his two guards, and his driver, said district police chief Abdur Rasheed.... Rehman was affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party headed by Aftab Khan Sherpao, a former interior minister who has survived two suicide bomb attacks.

A message to him?

The attack came after a roadside bomb struck a vehicle carrying anti-Taliban elders in the Bajur tribal area, killing two and critically wounding four others, said Naseeb Shah, a local official. The six men were working to set up an anti-Taliban militia in Bajur, a militant stronghold near the Afghan border, Shah said. The men were on their way to meet local officials in the main town of Khar when the remote-controlled device detonated, Shah said. The blast occurred near Kassai, about 17 miles northeast of Khar, he said.

I'm just not liking the smell, readers, sorry.

The Pakistani military carried out an anti-Taliban offensive in Bajur in 2008 and 2009 that it declared a success. But the militants have maintained their presence, and violence has flared in the region since then.

Yes, the OFFENSIVES NEVER REALLY END. They just go ON and ON and ON!

A man and a woman were found shot to death in the Mamund area of Bajur yesterday with a note saying they were guilty of violating Islamic law, said Faromosh Khan, a local official....
