Time to get the kids out of day care:

"2 women charged in day-care sleep aid case" by Associated Press | March 11, 2010

CINCINNATI — Two former Ohio day-care workers accused of slipping an over-the-counter dietary supplement into candy and giving it to their charges to help them sleep at nap time were charged with misdemeanors yesterday....

Parents had told investigators their children often seemed groggy after leaving day care.

Thank God that's all they gave them, huh?

"Ohio caged children’s case settled for $1.2m" by Associated Press | March 11, 2010

TOLEDO, Ohio — Eleven adopted and foster children forced to sleep in cages by their adoptive parents have reached a $1.2 million settlement with the Ohio county where they once lived.

Lawyers for the children contended that Huron County children’s services workers should have discovered what was going on before they did and removed the children.

Yeah, the state fails all the time.

See: They Died in Each Others Arms

But don't forget to say "Hey, neighbor(?)!"

“There were red flags that should have had the county in there sooner,’’ said attorney Jack Landskroner.

Instead of filing a lawsuit, attorneys for the children negotiated with the county on the settlement, announced yesterday.

The children suffered from problems such as fetal alcohol syndrome and ranged in age from 1 to 14 when authorities removed them from their Norwalk home in 2005. Their adoptive parents, Michael and Sharen Gravelle, are serving two-year prison terms for abusing some.

The county has denied blame and said the social workers did nothing improper.

That's just the point; they DID NOTHING!

That's why government has been discredited over here.

They can't admit to nuthin' either!!!

"Ohio State janitor about to lose job kills co-worker, self" by Associated Press | March 10, 2010

COLUMBUS, Ohio - An Ohio State University janitor who was about to lose his job walked into a maintenance building for his early-morning shift yesterday and shot two supervisors, killing one of them, before fatally shooting himself. No students were hurt.

Nathaniel Brown, 51, arrived for work at the nation’s largest university dressed in dark clothing, a hooded sweat shirt, and a backpack. He opened fire in an office suite using two handguns, campus Police Chief Paul Denton said.

Now everyone with a hoodie and a backpack will be a suspect.

Brown spent five years in prison in the 1970s and ’80s for receiving stolen property but lied about it on his job application, records show.

So what? Everyone else in authority lies, from the very top all the way down.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Ohio State had done the required background check on him.

Ohio State released documents from Brown’s personnel file showing that supervisors complained he was tardy, slept on the job, and had problems following instructions.

He was employed as a custodial engineer, right?

What did you think you were getting?

The university sent him a letter March 2 informing him that his employment was to end Saturday....

They SENT HIM a LETTER?! No wonder they got the bullet!

The shooting was reported at 3:30. Police tactical units surrounded the building and found Brown with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a garage bay, Denton said. He was pronounced dead at a campus hospital several hours later....

Executed by the cops, or.... ?

I mean, police would tell us, right?

Oh.

Well, look on the bright side: it saved the taxpayer's money and police the paperwork, 'eh?
