Slow f***, folks:

"Globe union moves to protest executives’ pay" by Globe Staff | March 27, 2010

The Boston Newspaper Guild, the biggest employee union at The Boston Globe, is asking members to sign a letter to protest the compensation packages of two top executives at The New York Times Co., the Globe’s owner.

Last year, the Times Co. threatened to shut down the Globe if workers and unions did not agree to $20 million in concessions that included salary and benefit cuts. Given those circumstances, the Guild contends that Times Co. chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and chief executive Janet L. Robinson were grossly overpaid.

“Needless to say, we are insulted, but we also feel betrayed that you would reap such profits at a time when so many of your employees have lost so much,’’ according to the draft letter circulated to members this week.

WHO CARES?

I NO LONGER have sympathy for people who help produce and push such supremacist rubbish.

According to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Robinson earned $6.3 million in total compensation last year, up from $4.8 million in 2008.

Well, at least you know where they got the $$$, Globe employees.

Then why you giving her a hard time now, you ungrateful SoBs?

Sulzberger, who is also publisher of the company’s flagship newspaper in New York, earned $6 million in total compensation last year, up from $2.3 million in 2008. Their compensation includes salary, bonuses, stock options, and retirement benefits.

Wow, NICE RAISES for FAILING!!!!

A Times Co. spokeswoman declined to comment on the Guild letter.

Nothing but a peon fart poot, 'eh, NYT?

"US newspaper ad revenue falls 10%" by Associated Press, Associated Press | May 28, 2010

SAN FRANCISCO — Advertising revenue at US newspapers fell 10 percent in the first quarter from the year before, the smallest such drop since the recession began in late 2007....

Newspaper ads brought in $6 billion in the January-March period, down from $6.6 billion last year, according to the Newspaper Association of America. The newspaper industry is now subsisting on 46 percent less ad revenue than just four years ago. Ad revenue was $11.1 billion in the first quarter of 2006.

Although newspapers are still hurting, the first-quarter trend offered the latest sign that the misery may not last much longer. The industry’s year-over-year declines in ad revenue have eased in the past three quarters.

Yeah, there is STILL OIL GUSHING into the LYING, AGENDA-PUSHING, MSM boat, but NO PROBLEM, captain!

The LEVEL of SELF-DELUSION is ASTONISHING!

The AmeriKan newspaper industry REALLY IS OUT of TOUCH!!

No wonder NO ONE READS THEM anymore!!!!!

With the shortfalls in advertising, their main source of revenue, newspapers have endured bankruptcy filings and dramatic cutbacks in staff. Some newspapers have closed, gone online-only, or curtailed home delivery.

Ad revenue has now fallen at US newspapers in 13 consecutive quarters compared with the previous year. The latest quarter marked the first time newspaper ad revenue has decreased by less than 12 percent since the final three months of 2007.

Yeah, they are ONLY LOSING 10% now so they are SAVED!

And when they LOSE ANOTHER 10% next quarter, and another ten percent, and another ten percent?

I guess they will NEVER REACH ABSOLUTE ZERO so the self-serving AmeriKan MSM must be right!

HAPPY DAYS are HERE AGAIN for NEWSPAPERS!!!

Newspapers have been trying to lessen their dependence on ad revenue as less expensive alternatives have emerged on the Internet. Many big city newspapers have raised their prices.

Hey, NYT made money!

Yeah, the KIDS do NOT LIKE being LIED TO, either!

"No wonder Americans are misled and confused by the new media landscape - or just cynical and switched off. Last year the Pew Research Center’s biannual survey found the lowest level of trust in the news media in over two decades. Only 29 percent believed the media generally “get the facts straight’’ - the worst ranking Pew has ever recorded....

Globe Decline a Decade in the Making

The New York Times killed it, huh?

No wonder the paper I used to respect is now despised here.

What America really needs is someone to take them by the hand through media land....

Why, HELLO, readers!!!!

That is why YOU and I are HERE, isn't it?

You certainly will not find that tour in the lying, agenda-pushing Boston Globe!
