It is NOT ABOUT PARTY at all, is it?
It is just ONE BIG CLUB and you are either in or out.
Keep your head down, Joe!
"Specter fights for votes in new party; Rival in primary asking who is the true Democrat" by Marc Levy, Associated Press | May 14, 2010
HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Senate primary Tuesday in Pennsylvania is too close to call after a surge in the polls by Senator Arlen Specter’s opponent, US Representative Joe Sestak, who had trailed Pennsylvania’s longest-serving senator by high double-digits just last month. The strong anti-incumbent sentiment among voters and Sestak’s ad linking Specter to President George W. Bush and Sarah Palin — and including that bit of bravado — have boosted the challenger’s prospects.
Yeah, how does that JOHNNY-COME-LATELY SPECTER win a DEMOCRAT primary?
RIGGED MACHINES?
“Arlen Specter switched parties to save one job — his — not yours,’’ the ad says.
For once a political campaign tells the truth!
Specter, 80, a centrist first elected in 1980, has survived tough election battles by appealing to moderate voters. This time, he is struggling to convince voters that he’s the true Democrat in the primary race.
Well?!
It's like the old saying: given a choice between a Democrat and a real Democrat, Democrats will take the Democrat every time.
It's because of the STATE SECRETS, isn't it?
Admiral Sestak on the outside, isn't he?
Party operatives and some labor unions are mobilizing with all the force they can to save Specter....
WTF?

Doesn't have the nickname "Dirty Eddie" fer nuthin'!Oh, readers, the DemocraP party is RANCID!!!
Specter has highlighted his votes for Obama’s agenda, including the health care law.
We didn't like that law, jerk.
He’s tried to distance himself from the GOP, pointing to Democratic priorities he backed while he was a Republican, such as the minimum wage, abortion rights, and the economic stimulus package.
That is NOT WINNING OVER ANYONE!
“They called me a RINO (Republican-in-name-only) for decades because they didn’t like my votes as a Republican, because I stood up against the party,’’ Specter said after a debate with Sestak this month....
Pffft!
See: A Republican In Name Only
Now that is a RINO!
I notice that BOTH DemocraP and Repuglican are FOR the WARS!!
Sestak, 58, a former Navy vice admiral and second-term congressman from suburban Philadelphia, has cast himself as the primary’s real Democrat who can be trusted to support Obama.
Well, we would like you to have some more independence, Joe, seeing as Obomber supports the other guy.
Sestak has tried to tie the recession to Specter’s votes for bank deregulation, the Iraq war, and Bush’s 2001 tax cut, which many Democrats criticized as a giveaway to the wealthy.
Yes, if Specter survives it will be FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD!
Americans HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN those things that are at the root of our problems and anger!
“No career politician who’s been there for 30 years and helped get us into this mess can be relied upon to help get us out, even if Arlen Specter switched parties to keep his job,’’ Sestak said at an event this week.
Yeah, the GUYS WHO CAUSED the PROBLEMS are NOT the guys to FIX 'EM, sorry!
Sestak has made Obama’s nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court an issue in the race, challenging Specter to explain why he opposed Kagan’s appointment as solicitor general last year, when he was a Republican....

Obama Thumbs His Nose at the American People
And at Joe!
Of course, the people are getting used to such conduct from the man of change.
Sestak has the endorsement of the political action committee of NARAL, a national abortion-rights group — despite Specter’s record in supporting abortion rights.
In recent weeks, Specter reported $5.8 million cash on hand, twice as much as Sestak. At that point the two candidates had spent more than $8 million campaigning.
Hmmmm.
The CA$H i$ alway$ KING in AmeriKan politics.
The race has gotten ugly at times.
These are DEMOCRATS, not TEA-PARTY TORN Repuglicans!!
Specter ran the first attack ad, suggesting that the Navy fired Sestak in 2005. Sestak calls that a lie and a Swift Boat-style attack, a reference to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and their unsubstantiated claims during the 2004 presidential campaign about the Vietnam War record of Senator John F. Kerry, then the Democrats’ nominee for president.
Hey, if it WORKED BEFORE.... !!!!
For years, Specter had rejected Democrats’ entreaties to switch parties. Instead he used his willingness to cross party lines in crucial votes to bolster his influence in Congress.
The final straw came in February 2009, when he became the only Republican facing reelection in 2010 to vote for the stimulus plan. A hornet’s nest of GOP anger and a guaranteed primary challenge from Pat Toomey, the conservative former congressman who nearly beat Specter in 2004, prompted Specter to switch parties.
Then DEMOCRAPS are STOO-PID if they select Specter!!!
He will be GOING DOWN THIS TIME!!!!!
Democratic Party leaders welcomed Specter, but they couldn’t clear the primary field for him.
Nothing can register my disgust at DemocraPs.
Sestak, whom they had recruited to challenge Specter before his switch, refused to abandon his campaign and is benefiting from voter backlash against incumbents.
Yeah, and VOTERS can SEE the Democrapic KNIFE coming out of his back!
Toomey awaits the winner....
Who do you think he wants to win?
At least we can count on John Kerry to defend his fellow comrade from those awful attacks on his character, 'eh?
"Kerry endorses Specter in Senate primary in Pa.
WHAT?
WASHINGTON — Senator John Kerry endorsed Republican-turned-Democrat Arlen Specter yesterday in Pennsylvania’s contested Senate primary as the incumbent tries to fend off criticism that he used “Swiftboat’’-style attacks.
The 2004 Democratic presidential nominee released a statement praising Specter as a “fighter and a friend, and I am proud to vouch for his character.’’ Kerry’s press secretary, Whitney Smith, later said Kerry was endorsing Specter.
Not a day goes by where my opinion of Kerry sinks even lower.
What an EMBARRASSMENT of a senator!
Specter is in a close race with Representative Joe Sestak for the Democratic nomination. Specter raised questions about Sestak’s Navy record and the retired Navy admiral accused his rival of a “Swiftboat’’-style attack.
In 2004, Swiftboat Veterans for Truth made unsubstantiated statements about Kerry’s Navy record during the Vietnam War.
In his statement yesterday, the Massachusetts senator said he didn’t want to referee a Swiftboat fight but did want to defend Specter’s record.
So John Kerry approved of the attacks against him in 2004, huh?
“That’s an issue for the candidates to address and the media to investigate,’’ Kerry said.
Yeah, dream on, John!

"I'll check on the story-- I'll take a look at it based on what you've said. You're the first people anywhere in the country who've brought this to my attention."
Yeah, how is that investigation going, John?
This REALLY IS ABOUT PROTECTING SECRETS!
“However, as the political season turns increasingly heated, I want to insist on a reality check about my colleague, Arlen Specter. I have known Arlen for 25 years and I know his character and the quality of his service to Pennsylvania.’’
Kerry said he is friends with both candidates, and had been an early backer of Sestak’s 2006 House campaign.
“I’ve been reluctant to get involved in a primary between two friends, and even more reluctant to be drawn into arbitrating the definition of the term Swiftboating,’’ Kerry said. “I’d like to see us get to a better place in politics where the word ‘Swiftboating’ is retired from the political vocabulary.’’
And here he is talking about it and endorsing a Swiftboater!
President Obama also is backing Specter, who is seeking a sixth term.
Some change, huh, America?
Specter switched parties in April 2009 as it looked unlikely he could capture the GOP nomination against conservative challenger Pat Toomey.
Ever notice politicians are cowards?
If it is a tough fight they want no part of it.
Recent polls suggest a close race. The primary is May 18.
Chris Nicholas, Specter’s campaign manager, said the senator is grateful for Kerry’s support.
Probably cost him support when you think about it.
Basketball game for me tonight, readers. Looking forward to it even though my teams have been on the losing side of the ledger lately.
