School has been canceled for the second straight day because of continuing power outages and clean-up, people.

GREENFIELD — More than 100 utility crews and about 50 tree removal teams fanned out across Western Massachusetts yesterday to restore power and clean up, hours after powerful thunderstorms struck.

Tens of thousands of customers in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Connecticut lost power during the Wednesday night storms, which prompted several communities to declare emergencies that kept school children at home yesterday....

Greenfield declared an emergency at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

I was right in the middle of it. I will post a picture later.

About 35 roads in the town were closed, residents were asked to stay home, and school was canceled.

“I’ve never seen this kind of whipping wind in this part of the country,’’ said Danielle Letourneau, a Town Council member....

Nope. Lived here all my whole life and never saw anything like this.

Never was so nervous, either.
