"Logan to get more explosives detection units" by Travis Andersen, Globe Staff | April 16, 2010
Related: A Stimulooting Success Story
Napolitano detailed the plan at a press conference at Logan. Security at the airport is a key issue because two of the planes involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks departed from Boston.
Have you HAD ENOUGH of THAT LIE being used to JUSTIFY so many things, America?
“These state-of-the-art technologies will strengthen security and streamline screening operations while making air travel more convenient for passengers,’’ Napolitano said....
Crazy or a lie, take your pick.
What a FAILURE SHE HAS BEEN, huh?
Her agency can't protect our borders anywhere.
Phil Orlandella, a spokesman for Massport, which runs Logan, said that the airport has always offered itself as a venue for new security measures....
Yeah, he i$ PROUD to be a LABORATORY for TYRANNY!
The federal stimulus bill, which Obama signed into law in February 2009, earmarked $1 billion for airport security measures, including $734 million for screening checked baggage and $266 million for explosive detection devices at checkpoints, according to Homeland Security.
Why I call it a STIMULOOT!
Those are NOT the kind of JOBS Americans were expecting out of their taxpayer-funded (actually, borrowed upon) stimulus.
Last month, Napolitano announced the initial deployment of stimulus-funded advanced imaging technology units, commonly known as body scanners, at 11 airports including Logan. The units allow screeners to check for weapons, explosives, and other objects concealed under layers of clothing, according to federal authorities....
Also yesterday, Homeland Security announced the expansion of an inline baggage screening system, which scans checked luggage for explosives, at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport, with $30.4 million in stimulus funds.
Napolitano is confident that the stimulus-funded devices will make airports safer, even as the threat of terrorism remains a concern.
“It’s an ever-evolving threat,’’ she said....
CIA-Duh is clever, 'eh, America?
Lying governments and MSM are not:
"Homeland security chief focuses on safety" by Brian R. Ballou, Globe Staff | April 17, 2010
Janet Napolitano, secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security, chatted with Boston’s police commissioner, first responders, and higher education officials yesterday about issues ranging from LNG tanker safety to cybersecurity.
See: Al-CIA-Duh's Ship Has Come In!
Napolitano first stopped at Cambridge’s Fire Department headquarters, where she shook hands with firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics. From there, she headed to MIT’s Vannevar Bush building, where she held a private meeting with area college and university presidents to discuss cybersecurity curriculum and the potential for more jobs in that sector.
Watchers watching watchers?
A FULL EMPLOYMENT ECONOMY!
In a news conference after the meeting, she said her department “is actively looking to recruit the best and brightest in our country to help in our efforts to prevent terrorism, to manage our air, land and sea borders, to administer and reform immigration laws and to safeguard cyberspace, which is a new but increasingly important mission area for us.’’
Can't tell them they are not telling you where they are thing you, America; when will you fight back?
The meeting included leaders from Babson College, Harvard University, MIT, the University of Massachusetts, Mount Holyoke College, Northeastern University, Roxbury Community College, and Wellesley University.
In the same meeting, she also addressed the issue of tankers that travel from Yemen into Boston Harbor to supply liquefied natural gas....
As I predicted, that flap blew over.
But it didn't remind you of the ever-present danger of the always-lurking, plotting-and-planning "terrorists" who are everywhere.
I'm afraid to go get a Globe now.
From MIT, Napolitano rode in a police-escorted SUV to Boston police’s District A-1 downtown, where she met with Commissioner Edward F. Davis, who talked about efforts by his department to stem crime in hot spots throughout the city. Davis also spoke about the department’s radio communications system, assuring Napolitano that it works effectively.
Is that helping with the global warming, and YOUR TAX DOLLARS at WORK!
During the Sept. 11 attacks, police, firefighters, and other first responders had difficulty contacting one another, exposing a critical failure in their communications systems.
You "missed" a whole bunch of stuff about 9/11, MSM.
The Department of Homeland Security has since spearheaded a nationwide effort to smooth out communications between first responders during a crisis.
After her meeting with Davis, Napolitano rode to Faneuil Hall, where 410 people from dozens of countries were sworn in as naturalized citizens.
Oh, the LEGAL WAY?
Napolitano offered congratulations and urged them to become informed and involved with the political process....
Unless it is about, you know, issues of war, peace, truth, justice.
Then you will be a problem.
That IS why they need their cyber-monitoring grid, right?

What is it with all the gays in Obama's administration anyway?
