BEIRUT — Lebanon expanded employment rights for 400,000 Palestinian refugees yesterday, changing a decades-old law that many have criticized for keeping the community impoverished and excluded from Lebanese society.
While peace-loving Israel keeps them penned up in concentration camps.
Palestinian leaders in Lebanon and human rights workers welcomed the move, but said it is only a first step toward improving the lives of stateless refugees who have been banned from all but the most menial professions for decades.

“I was born in Lebanon and I have never known Palestine,’’ said Ahmad al-Mehdawi, 45, a taxi driver who lives in Ein el-Hilweh, one of 12 crowded and squalid refugee camps in Lebanon. “What we want is to live like Lebanese. We are human beings.’’
Yeah, it BOGGLES the MIND that a WHOLE GENERATIONS has LIVED and DIED in REFUGEE CAMPS!

Some 4.7 million Palestinian refugees — who fled or were driven from their homes during the 1948 and 1967 Israeli-Arab wars — and their descendants are scattered across the Middle East. They live mostly in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, according to UN figures.

Their fate is one of the most emotionally charged issues in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Palestinian negotiators have demanded at least partial repatriation, but Israel has refused, saying an influx of refugees would dilute its Jewish majority and threaten the existence of the state.

BEIRUT — Lebanese security forces said they killed two suspected Islamist militants yesterday, including the leader of an Al Qaeda-inspired group that fought Lebanon’s Army in 2007. Army officials said one of those killed was Abdul-Rahman Awad, a leader of the Fatah Islam group. Awad was one of the most wanted men in Lebanon."

BEIRUT — Lebanon yesterday gave a UN tribunal material provided by Hezbollah to press the militant group’s allegation that Israel was linked to the 2005 assassination of Rafik Hariri, a former prime minister of Lebanon.
Not only that, they did it!

Israel has dismissed Hezbollah’s repeated claims as ridiculous.
That pretty much confirms it.
Israelis always lie.
UN investigators have been probing Hariri’s killing for years but have never pointed to possible Israeli involvement — which Hezbollah says is a sign of bias.
That is because the U.N WORKS FOR ISRAEL!
They have made that QUITE PLAIN over the past 60+ YEARS!
Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has said it expects some of its members to face indictments by the tribunal in the Netherlands investigating Hariri’s assassination and asserts the panel has no credibility.
That's right.
And notice how the war-promoting media slips Iran in there on you!
The militant group recently pointed the finger at its sworn enemy Israel, possibly in an attempt to deflect attention from any indictments.

Lebanon’s government is an uneasy coalition of a Western-backed bloc and Hezbollah, which in just a few years has gained so much political power it now has a virtual veto over government decisions.

Hezbollah is undoubtedly the country’s most powerful military force, with an arsenal that far outweighs that of the Western-backed national army. The group has drawn praise in the past for standing up to Israel’s powerful military, although its 2006 war with Israel and 2008 sectarian clashes with political rivals raised criticism among some Lebanese that the movement was dragging the country into violent conflicts.

Hariri was killed in a massive Valentine’s Day truck bombing in 2005 that many in Lebanon blamed on Syria, which also backs Hezbollah. Syria denies involvement.
Hariri, a billionaire businessman credited with rebuilding Lebanon after its 15-year civil war, had been trying to limit Syria’s domination of Lebanon in the months before his assassination.
His killing sparked massive anti-Syrian protests in Lebanon, dubbed the “Cedar Revolution,’’ which led to Syria’s withdrawal of all of its tens of thousands of troops in Lebanon.
So WHO BENEFITED?
Last week, Hezbollah unveiled what it said was aerial reconnaissance footage and other material that implicates Israel. Hezbollah’s leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah acknowledged the material was not absolute proof, but said it can open new horizons for the investigation.
It has to be BETTER than ANY S***-SLOP from Western intelligence agencies or Israel!
