Lebanon Issues Warning to Israel

"Lebanon crisis deepens as would-be prime minister quits; Blames Syria, Iran for failure of coalition" by Borzou Daragahi, Los Angeles Times | September 11, 2009

BEIRUT - Lebanon’s US-backed prime minister-designate abruptly quit yesterday, plunging the nation deeper into a political crisis over failed efforts to form a government.

Saad Hariri, whose political coalition trounced a Hezbollah-backed alliance in June 7 elections, said that he was stepping down from his post after failing to form a Cabinet. He blamed the opposition, backed by Syria and Iran, for making unreasonable demands....

But the opposition has said Hariri made big mistakes after the election that alienated some of his allies. Hariri angered friends and rivals alike by trying to pick Cabinet members from each camp rather than allowing each political party to select its own nominees, opposition figures said.

“How can we see the role of Iran and Syria in this?’’ said one opposition official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. “This failure was made by his hand.’’

Something is coming down the pike then, folks.

Lebanon is a political battleground where the United States and its allies face off against the self-described Iranian-led “camp of resistance,’’ which includes the militant Hezbollah organization and Syria, long a key Lebanese power broker....

One analyst described Hariri's resignation as a cry for help and predicted the United States, France, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iran would now intervene to press the parties to make a deal.

Or we could have another war.

If President Michael Suleiman designates Hariri again, Hariri could try to form a Cabinet without the support of the opposition. But analysts say that risks deepening the crisis.

“Hezbollah would view this as a declaration of war,’’ said Hilal Khashan, a professor of political science at American University of Beirut.

Hariri’s allies alleged the opposition was holding up formation of a government on behalf of its regional patrons....

Bull. He did this to himself (probably on USraeli/Saudi orders).

And just in time, too! Did he know what was coming?

"None injured in first exchange since February" by Borzou Daragahi and Richard Boudreaux, Los Angeles Times | September 12, 2009

BEIRUT -Two rockets were fired into northern Israel from southern Lebanon yesterday, and Israel responded minutes later with a barrage of 14 rockets and by scrambling fighter jets across the volatile border, according to Lebanese and Israeli media.

Yeah, and they were ON TIMERS so the FALSE-FLAGGING ISRAELI could HUSTLE BACK over the border!

No one was reported injured on either side of the border, often a flash point for conflict between Israel and Lebanese or Palestinian militant groups across the rocky frontier....

Israel, however, is worried that Hezbollah will become part of the new Lebanese Cabinet and use the US-backed government as a cover to bolster its stockpile of weaponry and intelligence apparatus.

Well, SOOOOO WHAT?

I don't hear anyone bitching at all the weaponry we give IzraHELL, and besides, WHAT BUSINESS is it of the Israelis what government Lebanon has?!

Imaging Lebanon trying to dictate the same to Israel, and the outrage that would result.

Efforts to build a Cabinet collapsed Thursday after Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri quit, complaining of intransigence by the opposition. Israel and the West have called on Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah, as demanded by the United Nations. Hezbollah says it needs weapons to defend civilians from Israeli incursions.

I wouldn't give up my gun, not with Israel next door.

The Israeli military said it “considers the Lebanese government and Lebanese military as accountable to prevent such attacks.’’

So even if there is a FALSE FLAG, Lebanon will be held responsible.

Lebanon’s official National News Agency said the Israeli shells hit uninhabited areas.
