A tragedy that has gotten entirely too much attention.

Yeah, NOTHING AGAIN TODAY about our men in the field, Globe.

And THEY KNOW IT, too!

"Questions begin after Quincy’s man’s body found in river; No evidence of violence, DA says" by John R. Ellement, Globe Staff | October 15, 2009

The search for a Quincy man who disappeared last week while talking to his fiancee on his cellphone ended early yesterday when the man’s body was found in the Charles River, a discovery that devastated his family and his girlfriend, who had searched Boston relentlessly for “the love of her life.’’

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said that the body of William Hurley was spotted floating in the river off the banks of the Nashua Street Park around 2 a.m. and was recovered by Boston police.

The death of the 24-year-old US Navy veteran is being investigated by State Police assigned to Conley’s office. Conley told reporters there was no visible evidence Hurley had fallen victim to a violent crime, but stressed that an autopsy by the chief medical examiner’s office will be key to any conclusions on how Hurley died.

There were no obvious signs of trauma to Hurley’s body, Conley said. Nashua Street Park is across the street from the Nashua Street Jail. Conley downplayed robbery as a possible motive, saying that Hurley’s keys, cash, and wallet were still on him when his body was found in the Charles River. “It does not look like a robbery or anything like that,’’ he said.

Then he must have just WALKED OUT INTO THE RIVER, huh?

Hurley’s death left two families reeling. His girlfriend, Claire Mahoney, who plastered downtown Boston with missing person fliers and made herself available to the news media for interviews in hopes of finding Hurley, was in seclusion with her family yesterday, a sister said.

So WHY DID THEY PICK UP HER CAUSE when there are SO MANY OTHER ITEMS they IGNORE, huh?

Think about that for a minute. "She made herself available to the news media."

So I guess they had NO CHOICE but to COVER IT, huh?

I have to tell you, I am SICK of THIS SLOP that passes itself off as NEWS!

THIS is why the BOSTON GLOBE is TANKING!

Hurley’s family could not be reached.

“She is not doing well,’’ Kathryn Delgado said by phone. “The love of her life is gone. That’s not something that is going to be easily dealt with.’’

Tell it to ALL THE FAMILIES who have LOST LOVED ONES because of the WAR LIES you SOLD and ARE SELLING US, Globe!!!!!!!!!!

Conley told reporters that the autopsy should indicate how much alcohol Hurley had consumed and may indicate whether that played a role in his death.

So he just WANDERED INTO the RIVER DRUNK, huh?

Delgado, citing a friend who was with Hurley at TD Garden during the hockey game, said he had three or four beers.

Then why was I told ONE through and EARLIER REPORT?!

"Venti said Hurley had one beer"

The forensic inquiry was incomplete yesterday, and authorities do not expect a toxicology report for several weeks, according to Conley’s office. Delgado said Hurley seemed coherent last Thursday as he exchanged numerous text messages and talked with Mahoney as she tried to pin down his location....

“He didn’t know where he was, but he could describe where he was,’’ Delgado said. “Had he too much to drink? Not at all. That’s why it’s baffling.’’

Conley said Hurley’s body was found near a state park where no fencing is installed.

Delgado said she was in that neighborhood helping her sister put up missing persons posters and does not believe the lack of the fence is a significant factor. “I went down and saw the area,’’ she said. “Did I think it was unsafe? No, I don’t think it was unsafe.’’

Brendan Venti, a co-worker from the Weston Golf Club, had accompanied Hurley to his first Bruins game that night. Yesterday, Venti declined to comment. “This isn’t the time, sir; I am sorry,’’ Venti said and hung up....

You have to love the sensitivity of Globe reporters, don't you?
