"Sea turtle rescued from Cape marsh" by Michaela Stanelun, Globe Correspondent | October 15, 2009

A large sea turtle was recovering in a water tank at the New England Aquarium yesterday after being rescued from a salt marsh on Cape Cod where it was stranded and in danger of dying of hypothermia....

The turtle had a body temperature of 54.8 degrees and was deemed hypothermic. Sea turtles are cold-blooded reptiles, Tony LaCasse, aquarium spokesman, explained, and their internal body temperature changes based on the temperature around them. The temperature of Cape Cod Bay was near 60 degrees....

After I was told the water had WARMED UP!!!!

“Water temperatures do not change as quickly as air temperatures,’’ LaCasse said....

Then the WATER SHOULD STILL BE WARM, huh?

Yeah, WHATEVER LIE WORKS for the specific moment, right, MSM?

"Winter forecast calls for warmer West" by Associated Press | October 16, 2009

WASHINGTON - The Midwest and northern United States are likely to experience a warmer winter, while the Southeast can expect just the opposite: cooler and wetter conditions.

In its winter outlook released yesterday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says an El NiƱo weather event - warming in parts of the Pacific that affects weather worldwide - will be a major player in America’s winter temperatures. Forecasters predict warmer-than-usual temperatures will reach a swath from Washington to Michigan, dipping south to central New Mexico. Alaska also has a higher chance of warmer temperatures.

They also say cooler temperatures are expected from southern Texas to the mid-Atlantic states and in Hawaii. Other places, such as the Northeast and California, can go any which way on temperatures.

Well that sure is a C.Y.A. statement!

Overall, slightly more than half the nation (by area) will be warmer than normal, but when it comes to where most people live, about half the population is likely to have warmer weather and the other half cooler, said Mike Halpert, deputy director of NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center....

Pffft!

Something smells, NOAA.

Why don't you just say WE DUNNO?!!!
