"Iran opposition figure survives brazen shooting; Car’s windows were shattered during attack" by Nasser Karimi, Associated Press | January 9, 2010

TEHRAN - Progovernment demonstrators opened fire on the car of one of Iran’s opposition leaders and shattered his windows, but he escaped unharmed from the rare armed attack on a top reformist, his website reported yesterday....

So ANYONE could have SHOT OUT WINDOWS to a CAR, right?

So were they CIA?

Blackwater?

Jundallah?

Which western outfit did these gunmen work for, huh?

The shooting against Mahdi Karroubi, however, was unusual....

The attack raised concerns that the political turmoil rocking Iran could be spiraling out of the government’s control....

Or so the agenda-pushing Zionist mafia, er, media is hoping.

None of Iran’s official or semiofficial news outlets reported on the shooting....

Like the Zionist MSM has a Palestinian pot to piss in there.

Problem is, Palestinians don't even have a pot!

Senior cleric Kazem Sedighi appeared to give the green light yesterday for people to take matters into their own hands against opposition figures....

During the prayers yesterday, hard-line lawmaker Gholam Ali Haddad Adel appeared to lash out Karroubi, accusing him of serving the enemies of Iran.

“Why did you pave the ground for the plots of foreign enemies?’’ said Adel, an ally of Iran’s supreme leader. “You damaged the reputation of the system,’’ he added, without mentioning Karroubi by name.

"Iranian inquiry faults prosecutor in protesters' deaths" by Thomas Erdbrink, Washington Post | January 11, 2010

Even stranger (or not) since the
the Washington Post is the CIA 's newspaper.

TEHRAN -- The commission called for compensation for the people held in the facility and called for "all responsible, whether judicial, police or officials, to be seriously dealt with, without any considerations, caring for the respect of the system."

In the turmoil after the disputed June election, thousands of anti-government protesters were arrested, including more than a hundred prominent opposition politicians, dissidents and journalists. Dozens died in the protests. Most detainees were released, but many of the prominent ones have gotten jail time averaging five years....

Some lawmakers, critical of the government, called the report incomplete....

On Saturday, Khamenei asked members of the basij paramilitary militia, which supports the government, to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, promising that judicial authorities would deal with anti-government protesters....

And THAT is where the SIMILARITIES ended, folks!

Saying the Islamic government's days are numbered, Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, said Iran may try to divert attention from the protests by raising the level of confrontation with Israel.

So WHEN is the

Right, IRAN gave it to them?!

That threat, he said, coupled with the increasing Hezbollah threat in Lebanon, make it more pressing to advance the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Senator Joe Lieberman, an independent from Connecticut, said more pressure must be put on Iran. The Pinnacle of Propaganda

Word is the
Washington Post Does Not Talk to the New York Times, but yes they do, readers!

NEW YORK - An Iranian parliamentary panel said yesterday that Tehran’s prosecutor, an ally of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, was responsible for the beating deaths of three imprisoned protesters last summer, state news agencies reported.

The U.S and Zionist MSM ought not be casting aspersions from their glass houses!

The panel’s investigative report said the prosecutor, Saeed Mortazavi, was responsible for the violence against protesters in the notorious Kahrizak detention center, where at least three young men, including the son of a senior former Revolutionary Guards commander, were killed.

Is it as notorious as Gitmo or the other secret torture sites?

And remember, world, the rendition, torture, secret black site prisons and floating dungeons are STILL ACTIVE, huh?

The allegation was a rare criticism of a senior official involved in the government’s crackdown on the protest movement that erupted in June over disputed election results. It also exposed the internal rift between Ahmadinejad’s faction, which favors a severe response to the protesters, and his conservative opponents, led by the speaker of Parliament, Ali Larijani, who favor compromise.

The report said Mortazavi insisted on sending 147 detainees to the prison in Kahrizak, south of Tehran, and “keeping them for four days in a space of 750 square feet, without ventilation in the heat of summer, lack of hygienic standards, food and water, in addition to beating and intimidation by prison guards.’’

While the report did not accuse Mortazavi of personal involvement in prisoner abuse, it said he was aware of the conditions at the prison and as prosecutor was responsible for them....

Then let the WAR CRIMES TRIALS BEGIN!

"A

Thus we get THIS piece of WAR-PROMOTING PROPAGANDA!

"China firm got nuclear parts for Iran; Transaction violates sanctions" by Debby Wu, Associated Press | January 9, 2010

TAIPEI - A Taiwanese company agreed to a request from a firm in China to procure sensitive components with nuclear uses, then shipped them to Iran, the firm’s head said yesterday. Such transactions violate UN sanctions imposed on the Middle Eastern nation.

The admission by Steven Lin of Hsinchu-based Heli-Ocean Technology Co. Ltd. comes amid an international effort led by the United States to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Good thing they are not building a bomb, huh, America?

Then again, if they were, who could blame them considering USrael's conduct these many years?

While Lin said he didn’t know whether the parts - a vital component in the production of weapons-grade uranium - were eventually used by Iran for military purposes, he acknowledged that they have nuclear applications.

Yup, more WE DON'T KNOWS presented as a "threat" in my war-promoting, enemy-creating Zionist War Daily!

UN sanctions to prevent Iran from expanding its uranium enrichment program have led it to the black market to obtain sophisticated nuclear-related equipment. Aided by these illegal purchases, the program has grown to the stage where thousands of centrifuges are churning out enriched material, which can be used both for fuel or as the fissile core of nuclear warheads.

Yup, churning them out at LOW LEVELS of ENRICHMENT for POWER, not bombs!!! Hey, you GET WHAT YOU NEED, right?

Iran insists that it wants to enrich uranium to generate nuclear power, but its attempts to evade probes by the International Atomic Energy Agency and its refusal to stop enrichment are increasing suspicions it actually seeks weapons capabilities.

1. Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

2. The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

4. Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.

7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel's clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.

9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel's bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.

10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

We all need to be Joe Wilson right now. We need to stand up and scream, "LIAR!" at every politician and every talking media moron that is pushing this war in Iran. And we need to keep dong it until they get the message that we will not be deceived any more.

In a telephone interview with the Associated Press, Lin said he received an Internet order from a Chinese firm in January or February 2008 to obtain an unspecified number of pressure transducers, which convert pressure into analog electrical signals. While pressure transducers have many commercial uses, they furnish the precise measurements needed in the production of weapons-grade uranium.

"China says missile intercepted in test" by Associated Press | January 12, 2010

BEIJING - China said its military intercepted a missile in midflight yesterday in a test of new technology that comes amid heightened tensions over Taiwan and increased willingness by the Asian giant to show off its advanced military capabilities.

They invade anyone over a pack of lies the last ten years or so?

FLASHBACKS:

TAICHUNG, Taiwan - “Peaceful development between the two sides is the overwhelming trend. No one can stand in its way,’’ Chinese delegation leader Chen Yunlin said.

But I will bet the U.S. sure as hell will try!

Since taking office in May 2008, Harvard-educated President Ma Ying-jeou has eased tensions across the 100-mile-wide Taiwan Strait to their lowest level in 60 years....

The Washington Post, the CIA 's newspaper, so you can be sure this is the agenda for the new year.

"Taiwan's rapidly improving ties with longtime foe China are diminishing US influence"

Oh, so the AGENDA-PUSHING, WAR-PROMOTING, Zionist AmeriKan MSM is LYING and DISTORTING the situation again?

The report followed repeated complaints in recent days by Beijing about the sale by the United States of weaponry to Taiwan, including PAC-3 air defense missiles. The sales are driven by threats from China to use force to bring the island under its control, backed up by an estimated 1,300 Chinese ballistic missiles positioned along the Taiwan Strait.

Do you SEE how the Zionist AmeriKan war-promoters completely turn the situation inside out, upside-down, and backwards?

That's why they are cratering.

Communist-ruled China and Taiwan split amid civil war in 1949, but China continues to regard the self-governing democracy as part of its territory. Beijing has warned of a disruption in ties with Washington if the weapons sale goes ahead, but has not said what actions it would take.

China’s military is in the middle of a major technology upgrade. Missile technology is considered one of the People’s Liberation Army’s particular strengths, allowing it to narrow the gap with the United States and others who wield stronger conventional forces.... Military analysts say China appears to have augmented its air defenses with homemade technologies adapted from Russian and other foreign weapons.

Yes, China is actually preparing to defend itself and it economic power and influence is growing. It therefore must be turned into an enemy.

And here is another clue as to the timing of the attack, readers -- not that it really matters much.

VIENNA - The United States and five other countries have tentatively agreed to meet this weekend to discuss what to do about Iran’s nuclear defiance of the UN Security Council, officials said yesterday.

How about ISRAEL'S NUCLEAR DEFIANCE, 'eh, U.N.?

The meeting would bring together political directors - who report directly to their foreign ministers - from the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany.

Oh, so it is like the THIRD-STRINGERS game, huh?

Officials from two of those countries said the meeting will probably be held in New York City on Saturday. The officials offered no details on the discussions, but the United States and its Western allies are expected to push for a fourth set of sanctions to punish Tehran for defying Security Council demands that it mothball its uranium enrichment program. The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity because their information was confidential.

While en route to Hawaii for meetings with foreign ministers in the Pacific region, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the White House has concluded that the best way to pressure Iran to come clean on its nuclear ambitions is to impose sanctions aimed at the country’s ruling elite. Clinton said yesterday that the final go-ahead on sanctions has not been made but that Obama administration officials are moving in that direction....

And then when Russia and China reject the sanctions, we will hear all this crap about how the U.N. doesn't work now!

Sounds familiar, doesn't it, America?

With Russia and especially China skeptical of any new sanction efforts, the Americans have to tread carefully to maintain six-power unity on how to deal with Iran. Upon taking over the rotating Security Council presidency earlier this month, China said that it opposes new sanctions against Iran.

Updates: US preparing military for possible Iran conflict

"Never Mind the Facts, Let’s Have a War…

This is a propaganda system at work: the choice of words and framework of logic designed to condition people into accepting certain options. In this case, the pre-determined option is a unilateral military strike on Iran either by the US or Israel. In that event, it will of course be reported by the BBC and other western media as a “pre-emptive” military measure to “prevent” Iran from attacking western interests in the region. Reported too, no doubt, will be the “collateral damage” of civilian casualties – unfortunate victims in an otherwise “just cause” to bring a “hardline regime” to abide by “international norms”. This is classic thought engineering that British political essayist George Orwell exposed so brilliantly – the official use of sanitised words to cover the sordid truth. So let’s rewind and play back the news with some pertinent facts and context that are routinely omitted in western media reporting."
