"French, British embassy staff on trial in Iran; London vows response to ‘latest outrage’" by Ali Akbar Dareini, Associated Press | August 9, 2009

TEHRAN - The extraordinary mass trial in Tehran’s Revolutionary Court demonstrates the government’s resolve to discredit Iran’s proreform movement as a tool of foreign countries - particularly Britain and the United States - trying to spark a revolution to topple Iran’s Islamic system.

The appearance of the British Embassy employee appeared to catch Britain off guard, and the Foreign Office in London promised a response to what it called “this latest outrage.’’ The defendants stand accused of crimes including rioting, spying, and plotting a “soft overthrow’’ of the regime....

The government has been eager to show that the outpouring was not the result of internal unrest, but foreign interference. During the session, a prosecutor read out an indictment saying the United States and Britain had plans to foment the unrest with the aim of toppling Iran’s Islamic rulers through a “soft overthrow,’’ the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

The indictment also accused the two powers of providing financial assistance to Iran’s reformists to undermine hard-line clerics within the ruling system.

What is sad is that the Iranians are telling the truth and the agenda-pushing, war-promoting Zionist MSM is covering up the truth -- again!

A reformist website said riot police attacked family members of the defendants and others gathered in front of the court to denounce the trial. Yesterday’s hearing was the second in a trial that started a week ago, although it was a new group of defendants facing the judge. Human rights groups and Iran’s opposition have criticized the trial as a sham and said televised confessions from defendants were scripted by authorities and extracted through pressure....

You mean, like WATERBOARDING?

Hossein Rassam, a political analyst at the British Embassy arrested shortly after the start of the unrest, told the court:

“. . . . The British Embassy, due to its hostile policies in Iran and fear of exposure of its contacts inside Iran, employed local staff to establish such contacts. I established such contacts based on orders from embassy officials,’’ IRNA quoted Rassam as saying....

In London, Britain’s Foreign Office called his appearance unacceptable and said it contradicted assurances it had been given by senior Iranian officials. “We deplore these trials and the so-called confessions of prisoners who have been denied their basic human rights,’’ a Foreign Office statement said....

As you can tell, I'm getting sick of reading this s*** day after day after day to repeat myself day after day after day.

"Iran judiciary tries to calm outrage over prison deaths" by Associated Press | August 10, 2009

That's the difference between Iran and AmeriKa: they care what their public thinks.

TEHRAN - Police and judiciary officials sought yesterday to calm public outrage over the deaths of detained protesters in prison, acknowledging abuses and calling for those responsible to be punished.

A senior commander of the powerful Revolutionary Guard, which led the crackdown against the protesters, said that the three top opposition figures are the ones who should be put on trial, striking a harder line that suggests tensions at the highest levels of Iran’s power structure.

So the psy-op, agenda-pushing Zionist propaganda machine would hope and like you to believe.

Iran’s prosecutor general, Ghorban Ali Dorri Najafabadi, called for those responsible for mistreating detainees to be punished, saying that the protesters weren’t meant to be taken to Kahrizak prison, which has been at the center of abuse allegations.

Iran's Gitmo?

“Unfortunately, negligence and carelessness by some officials caused the Kahrizak incident, which is not defendable,’’ he told the state news agency. “During early days, it is possible there were mistakes and mistreatment due to overcrowding in the prison.’’

His comments were followed up by the police chief, General Ismail Ahmadi Moghaddam, who acknowledged protesters were beaten by their jailers at the facility and its head has since been arrested along with three guards there and the prison closed down.

However, he maintained that the deaths in the prison were not caused by the abuse.

“This detention center was built to house dangerous criminals. Housing people related to recent riots caused an outbreak of disease,’’ the official news agency quoted Moghaddam as saying. Protesters “died of viral illness and not as a result of beating.’’

Anger of the events at Kahrizak has extended beyond just the reformist camp, with influential figures in the clerical hierarchy condemning the abuse of detainees and the three deaths known to have taken place there....

And ho many have died in the USraeli hell holes, huh?

Of course, there is ALWAYS the OFFENSIVE CHUTZPAH of the Zionist Globe's editorial staff:

"Iran’s crisis as an opportunity

Here we go again!

THE STALINESQUE trials of political opponents in Iran this summer....

At least they are getting trials.

The Iranian regime’s loss of credibility with much of its own population because of a stolen election may open up new opportunities....

The show trials are a desperate ploy by a regime that has lost face at home and around the world....

Human-rights lawyers in Iran say the accused were abused in prison, prevented from seeing lawyers, and forced to make transparently bogus confessions....

I just get sick of it. Sick of the j**s***. KSM and 9/11, s***heads.

From a human-rights perspective, there can be no denying the repulsiveness of the crackdown on Iranians peacefully airing their grievances against an ever-more-militarized ruling elite....

All right, I'm about ready to vomit.

A regime that is now despised by many Iranians....

Oh, then we AmeriKans have something in common with the common Iranian.

We despise our regime, too!
