Today's U.S. War Dead

Yeah, I know this guy is splashed all over the front pages, but....

"27th Vermonter is reported killed in Iraq

A US Army soldier from St. Johnsbury was killed Sunday while on patrol in Iraq. The Vermont National Guard said Second Lieutenant Joseph Fortin died when the vehicle he was riding in was hit by an improvised explosive device. Fortin, 22, was a 2004 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. He was not serving as a member of the Vermont National Guard, but the Guard is helping his family. An Associated Press count says that Fortin was the 27th serviceman with Vermont ties to die in Iraq. Another Vermonter was killed in Afghanistan, and one died of natural causes in Kuwait. (AP)."

Globe Finally Salutes War Dead

What is truly bizarre is this vet's death featured much more prominently in the Globe
:

"Officer killed as car hits work site; Driver, 79, faces homicide charge" by David Abel, Globe Staff | August 25, 2009

WEYMOUTH - For the first time in as long as anyone in the department could remember, a local police officer had died in the line of duty....

an Iraq War veteran who had served on the police force for the past five years, after his service in the National Guard....

After they broke the news to his wife, his three young children, his parents, his two brothers, and his extended family on the force, officers draped black bunting over the entrance of police headquarters, a symbol of their collective grief....

(I'm going to take a moment of silence; guy makes it back here to get plowed down in a traffic accident)

--more--"

What is not bizarre, and in fact is an all too often occurrence, I had to DIG to find the MOST RECENT DEATHS!

"A particularly bloody day in Afghanistan. Five car bombs simultaneously hit Kandahar, the country’s largest southern city, killing at least 41 people. And four more US troops were killed by another bomb in southern Afghanistan, bringing the August total to 41 and making this year already the deadliest yet of the war for American forces."

And Mullen tells us we are
JUST STARTING OVER!

Hey, look, I'm not trying to be a dink.

BUT HOW MUCH LONGER are we going to SACRIFICE OUR YOUNG MEN and WOMEN for MASS-MURDERING LIES?
