Dutch Treats

Just giving you what the Globe gives me, dear readers:

"Unlicensed Swedish pilot gets light fine" by Associated Press | April 14, 2010

OUDE MEER, Netherlands — A Swedish man who flew passenger jets around Europe for more than a decade without a license was let off with a light fine by a Dutch court yesterday. A prosecutor paid tribute in court to his flying skills....

Judge Mathieu Kronenberg rejected prosecution demands for a suspended three-month jail sentence and a larger fine on forgery charges, saying the charge wasn’t worded correctly....

Thomas Salme, 41, lives in Milan and did not show up for his hearing because he feared the media attention, his lawyer, Martha Muntjewerf, told the judge. Natasja Keijzer, prosecution spokeswoman, said the Justice Ministry will carefully consider whether to appeal.

Why?

So often we are told to "let it go."

If there ever was a case.... just make him get a license.

When you go "dutch" it is each pay your own, right?

Which means you need two, don't you?

AMSTERDAM — A Dutch nurse who served more than six years of a life sentence for allegedly murdering seven patients as a serial killer was exonerated yesterday, and the country’s attorney general personally apologized for her ordeal.

What the hell is wrong with the Dutch legal syste.... oh, it is just like every other state judiciary, sigh.

The ruling ended a bizarre legal odyssey during which the country’s judicial system interpreted evidence incorrectly, including statistics, autopsy results, and the nurse’s diaries....

Yeah, that never happens here in Amerika!

They will forge and plant the s*** to cinch the case, or torture a confession out of you!

Unreal!

During last month’s retrial, prosecutors conceded that the evidence they had used to build their original case was flawed and that they were not flexible enough after they became convinced of De Berk’s guilt early on in her case....

Yeah, POLICE seem to be the SAME EVERYWHERE!!

I expected better, Europe -- although maybe I should not have.
