A protest over a tomb on government land in the capital turned bloody, leaving two dead and some 130 wounded in clashes between riot police an hundreds of demonstrators armed with machetes and sticks. The protesters believed city officials were trying to remove the tomb of a cleric who helped spread Islam in the 18th century (Boston Globe April 15 2010)."
