Sweeping Up the AmeriKan War Dead in Afghanistan

Getting hard to find the dirt at the Globe.

"NATO details Afghan clash that killed 5 Americans

My Globe headline reads "Sweep in key Afghan valley resulted in latest US deaths; 6 soldiers killed since weekend in push near border"

KABUL, Afghanistan – NATO released Thursday the first details on an insurgent attack that killed five U.S. soldiers over the weekend, saying the Americans were trying to rout militants from a volatile valley in eastern Kunar province when they came under fire....

Also Thursday, NATO announced two more deaths in the south — one from a bomb explosion and the other in an insurgent attack. The military alliance said both soldiers died Wednesday but did not provide details or disclose their nationalities.

Thirty-nine NATO service members have been killed so far this month in Afghanistan, including at least 33 Americans.

The five American soldiers who died Sunday were "conducting clearing operations" when they came under fire in Watapur valley, said Master Sgt. Brian Sipp, a spokesman for the international military alliance....

Another American soldier died in the area Tuesday when insurgents fired on his unit, according to the military.

All six deaths occurred during a four-day push called Operation Bulldog Bite....

And look who got BIT on the ASS (like all empires that tread into Afghanistan).

Operation Bulldog Bite has killed at least five insurgents, though there have been unconfirmed reports of as many as 49 insurgents killed, said Maj. Mary Constantino, a spokeswoman for U.S. forces in the area....

I love the body count lies the military like to give.

So was the trade based on lies worth it, Americans?

HOW MUCH LONGER must this GO ON?

"Killer of 6 Americans leaves few answers; Taliban take credit, but his motive unclear" by Alissa J. Rubin,   New York Times / December 1, 2010

KABUL — Fellow villagers said he was just a poor kid who had taken a police job to help his family get by. Superiors saw him as a reliable foot soldier in the Afghan Border Police who had inexplicably snapped. The Taliban said he was a sleeper agent they had planted to kill NATO soldiers.

See: Handing the Joint Over in Afghanistan

Maybe he was high on drugs.

What is known for sure about the Afghan Border Police officer, who shot and killed six US soldiers on Monday in one of the worst attacks by an Afghan service member on NATO forces in nine years of war, is....

Not going to find it in my newspaper.

All that is known about Ezzatullah’s state of mind on Monday is that in the morning his father had visited him at his post and had asked him to accept a marriage contract with a young girl. He had rejected the request, telling his father that the girl was underage. After an argument, both men “were very upset,’’ according to Ezzatullah’s colleagues in the border police, who mentioned the situation to senior officers after the shootings of the six Americans....

That is the BEST LAME-ASS EXCUSE the COVER-UP SPECIALISTS can come up with?

Girl troubles?

Come on!

What happened next is not entirely clear....

But whatever it is you sure can smell it.
