Mossad behind Egypt church blast
Although, at first glance, the finger is pointed at extremist Wahabi or Salafi groups, it goes without saying that no Muslim, whatever their political leanings may be, will ever commit such an inhumane act.
Attacks on churches in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and Tunisia can be analyzed in the context of a Zionist scenario aimed at driving a wedge between Muslims and Arab Christians.
Since the emergence of Islam, Muslims and Christians in the East have always coexisted peacefully as Islam pays due respect to the freedom of divine faiths -- especially Christianity.
And true Christians return the honor.
In Egypt, too, Muslims and Christians are living in peace and harmony. Never, ever have the Christians in Egypt complained of any problems keeping them from carrying out their religious duties.

Al Qaeda in Iraq has made a series of threats against Christians. The latest just before Christmas led the Iraqi Christian community to cancel most holiday festivities.
After militants attacked a church in Baghdad in October and killed 68 people, it threatened more attacks and linked the violence to two Egyptian Christian women who reportedly converted to Islam in order to get divorces, which are prohibited by the Coptic Church....

The last major terror attacks in Egypt were between 2004-2006, when bombings — including some by suicide attackers — hit three tourist resorts in the Sinai peninsula, killing 125 people. Those attacks initially raised allegations of an Al Qaeda role. But the government has said local extremists were to blame.

Alexandria has become a stronghold for Islamic hard-liners the past decade. Stabbings at three Alexandria churches in 2006 sparked three days of Muslim-Christian riots that left at least four dead, though it has seen little violence since.
Christians, mainly Orthodox Copts, are believed to make up about 10 percent of Egypt’s population of nearly 80 million people, and they have grown increasingly vocal in complaints about discrimination.
In November, hundreds of Christians rioted in the capital, Cairo, smashing cars and windows after police violently stopped the construction of a church. The rare outbreak of Christian unrest in the capital left one person dead.

ALEXANDRIA, Egypt — Egyptian police are focusing their investigation into the New Year’s Day suicide bombing of a church on a group of Islamic hard-liners inspired by Al Qaeda....
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack....
In the immediate aftermath, President Hosni Mubarak blamed foreigners, and the Alexandria governor accused Al Qaeda, pointing to threats against Christians by the terror network’s branch in Iraq.
But yesterday, security officials said police are looking at the possibility that homegrown Islamic extremists were behind it, perhaps inspired by Al Qaeda though not directly under foreign command.
Investigators were also examining lists of air passengers who arrived recently in Egypt from Iraq because Al Qaeda in Iraq threatened Christians in both countries.
Egypt’s government has long insisted that Al Qaeda does not have a significant presence in the country. Egypt does, however, have a rising movement of Islamic hard-liners, known as Salafis, who have a large presence in Alexandria.
