Slow Saturday Special: Fellela's Fraud

Should have started out with this post because that's where I left off....

"R.I. lawmaker’s husband charged with fraud" Associated Press, July 27, 2013

PROVIDENCE — The husband of a Rhode Island legislator was arraigned Friday on charges that he used a stolen credit card and said he was homeless to collect $58,000 in fraudulent Social Security benefits.

With the spying program picking up every transaction, call, and text, how can this happen?

Henry Fellela pleaded not guilty in federal court in Providence and was ordered to remain at home until his trial, tentatively scheduled to begin in October.

Fellela, 55, faces charges of identity theft, credit card theft, and Social Security fraud. He was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury and was arrested on Friday.

Looks $eriou$!

Fellela’s wife is state Representative Deborah Fellela, a Johnston Democrat.

Federal prosecutors said Fellela used a stolen credit card in 2010 to buy $3,077 worth of electronic goods and clothing. The credit card belonged to a Smithfield resident.

They also allege that Fellela said he was homeless to collect $58,207 in supplemental Social Security benefits between 2004 and 2012, even though he was living with his wife and children in their Johnston home.

‘‘He is in the business of committing fraud,’’ said Assistant US Attorney Richard W. Rose.

But a good father and husband.

If convicted, Fellela faces potential prison time and fines.

Defense lawyer Michael Lombardi told US District Court Magistrate Judge Patricia A. Sullivan that Fellela has struggled with ‘‘psychological issues.’’

Pffffft!

I'm so SICK of I HAVE AN ALCOHOL PROBLEM or I have a MENTAL PROBLEM coming from these LAME-ASS LOOTING SCUM POLITICIANS MONEY-JUNKIES!!!!!!

Sullivan ordered Fellela to remain in home confinement, with exceptions for medical and court appointments. Fellela also was ordered not to apply for credit or participate in any gambling.

No GPS?

Fellela was arrested twice earlier this year on separate allegations.

In March, he was arrested by Rhode Island State Police and charged with using a stolen credit card after someone reported that the card had been stolen from a mailbox.

In April he was charged with credit card fraud in Massachusetts.

"‘Bearded bandit’ sentenced for bank robberies

A 34-year-old man dubbed the ‘‘bearded bandit’’ has been sentenced to six years and a month in prison for a string of robberies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Justin Worley was sentenced Friday in US District Court in Providence after pleading guilty in March to last year’s robberies of eight banks. He took about $32,000 in all. Prosecutors said Worley entered the banks wearing a fake beard and demanded money. They say he threatened tellers, sometimes with death (AP)."

Then Fellela should get more ba$ed on certain factors, right?

"‘Conjuring’ brings unwanted attention to R.I. couple

The Rhode Island couple who live in the house made famous in the movie ‘‘The Conjuring’’ say they are troubled by people curious about the 1730s-era home. The Woonsocket Call reported that Norma Sutcliffe and her husband have not slept well in days because of people showing up in their yard in the middle of the night. The couple has lived in the Burrillville home for 25 years. The hit horror film was not filmed there, but it is based on a supposed haunting that occurred when another family lived there in the 1970s. Sutcliffe said strangers call to ask about the house and she has seen online comments from individuals who suggest it would be fun to break in (AP)."

Nah, I don't want to go to the movies.

You know what's even scarier than that?

"Pawtucket pastor charged with sexual assault

A minister at a Pawtucket church has been charged with sexually assaulting an 87-year-old woman. The Rev. Rolando Rodriguez of the Light and Hope Methodist Church was arraigned Thursday on a charge of second-degree sexual assault in the incident, which prosecutors said occurred at the woman’s home on July 17. Prosecutors said Rodriguez came to the home unannounced, then grabbed the woman and pulled her to his body. Police say she then bit him. Defense attorney Robert Osteri said Rodriguez was simply hugging the woman to comfort her after the death of a loved one."

Yes, kids, devils do exist.

"A Rhode Island man at the center of a capital punishment battle between the state and federal governments agreed to plead guilty Friday in exchange for federal prosecutors dropping plans to seek the death penalty."

He fell for the deal!
