California's Death Sentence

"Prison medical system.... so bad that an average of an inmate a week was dying of neglect or malpractice. That hasn't changed"

Regardless of what you think of them, the state is their ward and thus has the responsibility to care for them, not neglect and torture them. It truly is AmeriKa now!

"Judge: Prison overseer who wants $8 billion for health facilities to remain" by Associated Press | March 25, 2009

SACRAMENTO - .... US District Judge Thelton Henderson gave the receiver control of the prison medical system in 2006 after finding conditions in the state's 33 adult prisons so bad that an average of an inmate a week was dying of neglect or malpractice. That hasn't changed, he said in yesterday's ruling....

The Schwarzenegger administration had argued that Kelso was no longer needed because the state can run its own prison healthcare system.

Well, APPARENTLY NOT, Arnie!!!!!!

Attorney General Jerry Brown, the administration's lawyer, reiterated his objections to the receiver's plans and said the state would appeal.

So much for controlled-opposition Moonbeam, huh? What a disappointment that guy is!

"The federal receivership has become its own autonomous government operating outside the normal checks and balances of state and federal law," Brown said in a statement.

The spying and torture hasn't seemed to bother you much (and that ATT whistle blower was from 'Frisco, folks).

"Already, California is spending almost $14,000 per inmate for healthcare, far more than any other state. It is time for a dose of fiscal common sense."

Then WHY is ONE INMATE DYING EVERY WEEK?!!!!!

And you want common sense? END the BANK BAILOUTS and WARS!!!!

Henderson rejected those arguments. He said there is oversight of the receiver's plans....
