"Tensions build over North Korea's plan to launch rocket; US reiterates warning about UN ban violation" by Jean H. Lee, Associated Press | March 27, 2009

SEOUL - North Korea's positioning of a rocket on its east coast launchpad ratcheted up tensions yesterday with Washington, which warned that pushing ahead with the April launch would violate a UN ban and have serious consequences....

But.... War Games Hypocrisy is okay.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs yesterday reiterated comments made a day earlier by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton that any rocket launch would be "provocative" and violate Security Council resolutions. Clinton warned that the launch could jeopardize the stalled talks on supplying North Korea with aid and other concessions in exchange for dismantling its nuclear program....

"We intend to raise this violation of the Security Council resolution, if it goes forward, in the UN," Clinton said Wednesday in Mexico City. "This provocative action in violation of the UN mandate will not go unnoticed, and there will be consequences."

Analysts say Pyongyang is angling to establish direct relations with President Obama's White House in hopes of circumventing the international disarmament talks that require the North to dismantle its nuclear program in exchange for much-needed aid.

Complicating the diplomacy is the detention of two American journalists, Euna Lee and Laura Ling, of former vice president Al Gore's online media venture, Current TV, for allegedly crossing into North Korea illegally from China last week.

Oh, some U.S. SPIES working under NON-OFFICIAL COVER were BUSTED by the North Koreans, huh?

Flashback:

"Two US journalists detained by N. Korea" by Associated Press | March 20, 2009

SEOUL - Two American journalists were missing yesterday after they were reportedly detained by North Korea for ignoring warnings to stop shooting footage of the country.

Journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee, reporters for Al Gore's online media outlet Current TV, were seized Tuesday along the Chinese-North Korean border, according to news reports. Their Chinese guide also was detained, although a third journalist with the group, Mitch Koss, apparently eluded capture.

Another agenda-pushing, controlled-opposition outlet exposed!!! Al Gore's Current TV, huh?

US officials expressed concern to North Korean officials about the reported detentions and said they were working with the Chinese government to ascertain the Americans' whereabouts.

"When you have two American citizens who are being held against their will, we want to find out all the facts and gain their release," State Department spokesman Robert A. Wood said.

Of course, we will hold detainees in secret black site torture chambers indefinitely and without charge. The CHUTZPAH of U.S. HYPOCRISY always amazes me!

US officials were in contact with Swedish diplomats in North Korea. Sweden's ambassador to Pyongyang, Mats Foyer, refused to say in whether negotiations for the Americans' release were under way. Because the United States does not have direct relations with North Korea, Sweden acts as its representative.

Connections have their perks.

"North says 2 US journalists detained

SEOUL - North Korea confirmed yesterday that it was holding two American journalists and accused the women of "illegally intruding" on its territory. The two were arrested March 17 after crossing the border with China, the Korean Central News Agency said. South Korean media and a South Korean missionary identified the two detained Americans as Laura Ling and Euna Lee, reporters for former vice president Al Gore's San Francisco-based media outlet Current TV. State Department officials said Washington is in contact with North Korea about the detentions (AP)."

I guess the MSM is too busy reporting and promoting war propaganda than to care about their own reporters. Government doesn't seem to concerned, either.

I wish reporters would wake up: your "news organizations" don't give a shit about you.
