A New Bedford man has been sentenced to 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to killing his wife's 3-month-old kitten because he thought she treated the animal better than him. Luis Alvarez was also placed on probation for two years, ordered to undergo anger management counseling, and to pay $252 in restitution to the Coalition for Animals. Alvarez, 31, pleaded guilty in New Bedford District Court on Wednesday to one count of animal cruelty. Prosecutors say Alvarez threw the animal down a flight of stairs in October (AP)."
