U.S. Reporter Spied on Iran For USrael

It explains so much of the media coverage, and confirms my suspicions.

"she had a copy of a confidential Iranian report on the US war in Iraq.... copied the report "out of curiosity" while she worked as a freelance translator for a powerful body connected to Iran's ruling clerics.... Prosecutors also cited a trip to Israel that Saberi made in 2006"

"Iranian court frees US journalist" by Ali Akbar Dareini, Associated Press | May 12, 2009

TEHRAN - An American journalist imprisoned on espionage charges in Iran for four months was freed yesterday and reunited with her smiling, tearful parents, who prepared to return home with her to the United States in the coming days.

The release of Roxana Saberi clears a major obstacle to President Obama's attempts at a dialogue with the top US adversary in the Middle East. Washington had called the charges against the 32-year-old dual Iranian-American citizen baseless and repeatedly demanded her release....

Her release came when an appeals court reduced her eight-year prison sentence on charges of spying for the United States to a two-year suspended sentence, said Iranian judiciary spokesman Ali Reza Jamshidi. He said Saberi was free to leave Iran. The court ordered the reduction as a gesture of "Islamic mercy" because she had cooperated with authorities and had expressed regret, he said.

Saberi moved to Iran six years ago and had worked as a freelance journalist for several organizations, including NPR and the British Broadcasting Corp. She was arrested in late January, but it was not known until Feb. 10, when she called her father in Fargo and told him she had been detained. She said it was because she had bought a bottle of wine, which is illegal in Iran but available on the black market....

That was kind of stoo-pid, wasn't it?

But when she was put on trial in mid-April, she was convicted on much harsher charges of spying for the United States. The conviction and heavy sentence brought strong criticism from the United States and other countries at a time when Obama was reaching out to Tehran. In the face of US criticism, Ahmadinejad and others sounded a more moderate tone, promising that Saberi's case would get a full review on appeal.

"Journalist held confidential Iranian report on war in Iraq" by Ali Akbar Dareini, Associated Press | May 13, 2009

TEHRAN - A joyful Roxana Saberi yesterday thanked those who helped win her release after four months in a Tehran prison. Her lawyer disclosed that the American journalist was convicted of spying for the United States in part because she had a copy of a confidential Iranian report on the US war in Iraq.

So WHY are we only being told this NOW, s*** MSM?!!!!!!

Saberi, who holds US and Iranian citizenship, had copied the report "out of curiosity" while she worked as a freelance translator for a powerful body connected to Iran's ruling clerics, said the lawyer, Saleh Nikbakht.

It turned into a key part of the prosecution's case against her during her secret, closed-door trial in mid-April before an Iranian security court, Nikbakht said. Prosecutors also cited a trip to Israel that Saberi made in 2006, he said. Iran bars its citizens from visiting Israel, its top regional nemesis.

Once again, the AmeriKan jewsmedia covering up nefarious covert activities and dirty tricks -- terrorism, really -- of USrael!!!!

Speaking to reporters in Tehran for the first time since her release Monday, a smiling Saberi said she did not have any specific plans but wanted to spend time with her family....

Saberi admitted that she copied the document two years ago but said she didn't pass it on to the Americans, as prosecutors claimed. She apologized, saying it had been a mistake to take the report. Nikbakht gave no details on the document because it is confidential.

What we would call CLASSIFIED, Amurkn!!
