Waziristan War Report

Let's see if I can catch up and keep up with the refugees....

"Violence mounts in Pakistan border area, killing dozens; US and allies crank up pressure on militants" by Riaz Khan, Associated Press | May 17, 2009

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Bombs destroyed an Internet cafe, wrecked a bus carrying handicapped children, and spread panic through Pakistan's main northwestern city yesterday, killing at least 11 people in a day of carnage across the militancy-plagued region.

An apparent US missile strike annihilated a Taliban raiding party mustering to cross into Afghanistan, officials said, while Pakistani troops claimed another 47 deaths in their bid to retake the Swat Valley.

Violence is engulfing Pakistani territory along the Afghan border as American and allied forces crank up the pressure on Al Qaeda and Taliban militants entrenched in the forbidding and barely governed mountains and valleys. Washington and other nations are pouring in billions of dollars in aid and military assistance to prop up the pro-Western government in Islamabad, which yesterday sought to allay concerns that its nuclear weapons could fall into extremist hands.

I'm tired of the drumbeat of war propaganda.

The first of two bombs to explode in Peshawar yesterday was hidden in a car and devastated a street busy with traffic, shoppers, and worshippers heading to mosques to pray.

Oh, FALSE-FLAG STINKOLA!!!!!

Television images showed several vehicles burning fiercely and a stricken white-and-green bus that had been dropping handicapped children at their homes around the city. All eight students still on board were injured, one seriously, along with the driver and an assistant, medics and police said. Four other children and seven adults were killed, and dozens more people injured, they said.

I hate to say it, but that's an MO of GOVERNMENT-SPONSORED FALSE-FLAG ATTACKS! They KNOW DEAD CHILDREN will get you outraged!

Ahmad Khan, a 9-year-old who had been on the bus, sat shaking on his mother's lap at the Lady Reading hospital as surgeons tried to save the life of a classmate. He struggled to tell her what had happened to him, throwing up his arms to mimic the explosion, then burst into tears and buried his bandaged head in her arms.

"My child is mentally impaired, but we had hope for him and sent him to school. Now I am even more worried for his future," said his veiled mother, Gul Bibi. "How could any human being do this?"

I don't think they were human.

Safwat Ghayur, a senior police official, said one of several buildings badly damaged by the blast was an Internet cafe - a favorite target for violent Islamist extremists in Pakistan who consider the Web a source of moral corruption.

Why would that be when they have so many 'Al-CIA-Duh" websites?

See what I mean about the lies being outrageous?

Ghayur said the cafe had received several threats and was attacked recently by gunmen. But it was unclear if any of the bomb victims had been in the cafe or if it was the intended target. No group claimed responsibility for the car bomb, or a smaller explosion in the evening in a bazaar filled with ladies' clothes stores that police said injured four people.

The MORE YOU READ the MORE IT STINKS!!!!!

An Associated Press reporter saw bystanders carrying away a screaming man, his bloodstained clothes shredded by the blast. Women streamed out of the area clutching shopping bags and wailing children. Militants have vowed to carry out a constant stream of attacks in Pakistan in retaliation for dozens of American missile attacks on their strongholds in Pakistan's tribal areas.

In the latest strike, Pakistani officials said several missiles hit a religious school and a nearby vehicle yesterday morning near Mir Ali, a town in the North Waziristan tribal region.

And? Any casulaties?

WTF? Bad enough it is the afterthought sentence of the article.

"Pakistan battle nears key northwest city; Urban war feared as army pursues Taliban fighters" by Asif Shahzad, Associated Press | May 18, 2009

Such beautiful children!

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistani security forces fought Taliban militants on the outskirts of the main city in the northwest's Swat Valley and entered two other Taliban-held towns there, the army said yesterday, foreshadowing what could become bloody urban battles.

A top government official said the offensive near Afghanistan had already killed more than 1,000 Taliban fighters, while a group of progovernment religious leaders endorsed the operation but condemned US missile strikes in the northwest....

I don't believe the religious support.

Just because my lying, Muslim-hating, war-promoting jewspaper says it doesn't make it true.

Many in Pakistan believe the militancy here has metastasized because of US intervention in Afghanistan. Recent Taliban forays into a district just 60 miles from Islamabad seem to have swayed many Pakistanis to support the most recent military operation, but that could change if the toll on the hundreds of thousands of civilians displaced mounts, and if more US missile strikes stoke greater popular discontent.

Why would public support be a worry or question against the evil Taliban -- unless the MSM is lying to us again, right?

In giving the 1,000-plus death toll yesterday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the operation in Swat and surrounding areas would "continue till the last Taliban are flushed out." It was not possible to independently verify the figure. The territories bombarded during the past three weeks are now too dangerous for journalists to freely visit.

Excuses, excuses. Ever see the blogs?

"The operation is going in the right direction as we had planned," Malik said in a televised news conference from Mardan, where he visited relief camps to see some of the new refugees. "I cannot give a time but we will try [to complete the operation] at the earliest."

Corresponds with the swelling death toll and refugee count, 'eh?

Pakistan's army is geared toward fighting a conventional battle against longtime rival India on the plains of the Punjab region using tanks and artillery, and it has limited experience battling guerrillas in urban settings. Its most recent major offensive, in the Bajur tribal region, drew praise from US officials for dismantling a virtual Taliban ministate but was criticized for the large amount of destruction it caused. The number of civilians killed in Bajur is unknown.

And the concern by the war-promoting Zionist AmeriKan MSM even less.

At a convention in Islamabad, hundreds of religious scholars and leaders - many of them Barelvis, a Sufi-influenced strain of Sunni Islam - denounced suicide attacks and other Taliban tactics in urging the government to continue the operation until peace is restored.

I don't think it is "Taliban" per se; they have no history of such things. I'm of the mind that is is "Al-CIA-Duh."

The attendees also denounced the US missile strikes, saying Pakistan should take up the matter at the United Nations....

That's a GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!

Britain's Sunday Times reported that Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said military action would follow in the tribal belt. "We're going to go into Waziristan, all these regions, with army operations," the newspaper quoted Zardari as saying in an interview. "Swat is just the start. It's a larger war to fight."

Oh, GREAT! More DEAD INNOCENTS over a LIE!!!!!!!

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said yesterday that the United States is sending $110 million in emergency humanitarian aid to Pakistan, part of the administration's new strategy for countering the appeal of Taliban militants in the nuclear-armed American ally.

Clinton detailed the aid package at the White House, saying the money is flowing to ease the plight of about 2 million Pakistanis who have fled fighting in the country's Swat Valley and are living in squalid tent cities.

Maybe INSISTING on the MILITARY ACTION wasn't such a good idea, huh?

I hold the U.S RESPONSIBLE for this!

Pakistan reluctantly undertook the offensive under pressure from the United States....

Yeah, but a PLATE of FOOD will MAKE UP for it all!!!!!!!

President Obama has spoken of the need to improve the lives of people in both Pakistan and Afghanistan as part of the administration's new plan for linking the US fight against the resurgent Taliban in the two countries.

By DROPPING BOMBS on them?

That will link the neo-con AfPak plan, cui bono?

The Taliban have provided sanctuary to Osama bin Laden and his top Al Qaeda leadership along the lawless and mountainous border shared by Afghanistan and Pakistan.

I'm so sick the bin Laden, "Al-CIA-Duh" propaganda.

YOU AIN'T FOOLIN' NO ONE NO MORE, s*** MSM!

The White House said $100 million in aid would flow from Clinton's State Department, with $10 million coming from the Pentagon. The largest single expenditure is $26 million for the immediate purchase of wheat, other food, and related items produced in Pakistan, the White House statement said.

Not that I am for Pakistani suffering, I'm not; however, that could have been helped by not murdering them with missiles.

On the $$$ front, has anyone told the globalists we are bankrupt?

They could BUY PRODUCTS for US HERE and make sure they were produced here but they DON'T!!!

Are you ever getting stiffed at both ends, 'murkn! Tossing money out for a catastrophe we created -- while our government also facilitates the outsourcing and off-shoring of your jobs.

At the Pentagon, a spokesman said the United States was sending military assets to the region to help alleviate suffering, not with the explicit role of improving US image abroad.

I really don't know what to say. I'm speechless at the boldness of the lying.

"They are in the midst of what arguably is the largest military operation ever undertaken by the Pakistani military, and they have shown a persistence in waging it, and we would want to be nothing but encouraging of them continuing to do so," Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said.

How much innocent Pashtun blood is enough for your appetite, huh?

Morrell said the Pentagon is sending C-17 cargo planes loaded with food, water, and tents.

Meanwhile, Americans are living in tent cities: Slow Saturday Special: Tent City

The aid is not sent with the intent to improve public opinion of the United States, Morrell said. "We provide relief because it's the right thing to do," he said.

Methinks he doth protest too much.

Sigh.

He doesn't think we are actually buying this, does he? My view is the U.S. is scrambling because their puppet government is losing control -- because of what we've asked them to do: kill their own cirtizens for our lies.

"If there is an ancillary benefit in which people can see the true colors of the United States in that region - because they've been distorted in the propaganda campaigns of the Taliban and Al Qaeda and others - and can see Americans for who we truly are, which is a caring and helpful people, that is a positive benefit, no doubt about it," Morrell said.

I think I'm going to be sick.

He's RIGHT ABOUT US, the people, but WRONG about OUR GOVERNMENT because WE WANT THIS MADNESS STOPPED!!!!!!!!!

"Pakistan's army cites progress vs. Taliban" by Zarar Khan, Associated Press | May 21, 2009

ISLAMABAD - Pakistani troops killed 80 militants and drove the Taliban from a major urban stronghold yesterday, the army said, as US military planes brought aid for refugees fleeing fierce fighting across the northwest.

One soldier was killed and nine seriously wounded as troops battled insurgents still holding several other towns in the neighboring Swat Valley, a military spokesman said....

Government forces cleared Sultanwas, the main Taliban-held town in Buner, overnight following intense clashes, army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said. He said troops destroyed several vehicles used by black-clad militants and defused a string of homemade bombs....

Can you verify that?

The army said it has killed more than 1,000 militants and won back swaths of territory recently seized by the militants. However, the clashes have prompted some 1.5 million people to flee their homes, a humanitarian emergency that could sap Pakistani enthusiasm for similar action against other Taliban and Al Qaeda sanctuaries near the Afghan border.

Why are they rounding the figure down?

(Hint: it's called minimization and obfuscation, readers).

Relatives have taken in many of those fleeing.

Yes, please read: Pashtun Hospitality

However, more than 100,000 refugees are housed in sweltering camps south of the war zone. US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced Tuesday that Washington would provide $110 million in immediate humanitarian assistance to Pakistan. Two American military planes landed yesterday at an air base near Islamabad with supplies including air-conditioned tents and 120,000 pre-packed meals, the US Embassy said.

And it all could have been avoided if we had not insisted Pakistan scrap the peace deal and begin this assault!
