Merry Christmas From the New York Times' Newsroom

Related: Heralding the End of Newspapers

"The New York Times (NYT) newsroom is reeling from today's announcement that the company plans to cut the staff by 100.

"..... We spoke with a Times reporter, who told us it was the timing of the layoffs that is hitting everyone the hardest. The layoffs will come at the start of December, meaning a jobless Christmas for lots of reporters.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

After all the ELITIST INSULTS directed at working people by these so-called "reporters" in their corporate service we are supposed to feel sorry for them?

Most of the people at the Times know the paper needs to be slimmed down, but nobody expected it would come in the middle of October. The newsroom is "stunned."

Our source says the staff knew budgets would be tighter next year, but they didn't expect the cuts this year. This fortells bad news for this Thursday's third quarter earnings announcement.

What, after they "reported second-quarter net income of $39.1 million?"

Otherwise, the cuts could have waited until after the holidays....

Hey, it's a New York Times Christmas!

NO ONE LIKES a LIAR!!!!

"The New York Times stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the government as it lied us into wars of conquest in Afghanistan and Iraq. In past ages where there really was no alternative the people would swallow down their indignation at being treated like idiots, pretend to accept the apologies of the media, and go back to clipping store coupons. But that was then and this is now and the people do have an alternative to turn to when the corporate media is caught lying again and again and again. Now, I don't like to see anyone out of work in these very difficult times, but in truth one of the reasons that we are in such difficult times is that the corporate media abandoned their self-professed role as watchdog on corporate and government malfeasance. They bartered their souls for a ride on Air Force One, betrayed the public trust, and now the public is exacting their revenge by turning away." -- Wake the Flock Up

I stopped purchasing and reading the New York Times as part of my 2008 New Year's resolutions -- and it stuck. I'm not feeling sorry for them or their reporters. They continue to peddle garbage and lies, and NOTHING CAN EVER MAKE UP for the BLOOD of MILLIONS on THEIR HANDS!!
