Let's add injury to insult (and now you really do need the crappy care)!

"Health care opponents intensify late attack; Raise abortion, immigration in 11th-hour push" by Susan Milligan, Globe Staff | November 6, 2009

WASHINGTON - The sweeping health care overhaul package before Congress is under an 11th-hour attack over a pair of emotional issues, abortion and immigration, that are complicating Democrats’ efforts to piece together the coalition they need to pass the bill....

I'm tired of the slanted and biased writing style of AmeriKa's MSM "journalists."

Emotional is meant to infer lack of rationality or logic, and is selectively applied depending the relationship to the agenda-pushing causes.

And how can one NOT be "emotional" when the country is being demolished?

Taxpayers will be forced to fund abortions and illegal immigrants’ health care.

But with the House scheduled to vote on the health care package tomorrow, members of Congress are being inundated with complaints from constituents about hot-button social issues the lawmakers say are not even related to a bill that will affect one-sixth of the nation’s economy.

Hey, YOU are the ones that KEEP THEM IN FRONT OF US, divisive, agenda-pushing MSM!!!!

Thousands of protesters, many of them carrying signs against abortion or illegal immigrant health care coverage, gathered at the Capitol yesterday demanding that Congress “kill the bill,’’ and many visited their congressmen’s offices yesterday to voice the same opinion.

Good! THEY NEED TO HEAR IT!!!!

Supporters of the health care package got a big boost yesterday with endorsements from the American Medical Association and the American Cancer Society. The AARP, a powerful retired persons’ lobby, previously announced it supported the bill.

Yeah, they called it a coup!

President Obama, making a rare, unannounced appearance in the White House press briefing room, said he was “extraordinarily pleased and grateful’’ at the endorsements.... If, as expected, no Republicans vote for the House package tomorrow, Democrats must keep enough of their own members on board - 218 of 258 - to pass it. And while leaders do not want to bring a bill to the floor unless they feel confident they can win, it is also dangerous to let too much time pass, said Representative James McGovern, Democrat of Worcester and a senior member of the House Rules Committee, which determines the final version of bills sent to the floor. The longer the negotiations drag out, he warned, the more likely it is that individual congressmen will bicker over details of the bill.

Abortion opponents are upset at language they believe would allow federal dollars to pay indirectly for abortions. While federal law explicitly bans use of federal money for abortions, House members who oppose abortion, including Democrats whose votes will be needed to approve the bill, say the House legislation could circumvent that law....

But those concerns were written of by the leadership earlier.

Immigration, too, has caused a furor.... Taxpayers will be forced to pay for the health care of illegal immigrants, energizing an entirely new segment of voters against the bill.

We already were!

In fact....

Whatever they are, you won't be finding them in an AmeriKan newspaper!

If undocumented workers are not allowed to use their own money to buy private health insurance, taxpayers will end up paying for it, anyway, said Representative Luis Gutierrez, Democrat of Illinois, since those without insurance will go to the emergency room when sick.

And they wonder why we are furious? Or why we want single-payer?

It is common for lawmakers to make last-minute demands on leadership when a close vote is anticipated on major legislation. Senior members of Congress said yesterday they did not expect the Democrats who generally support the health care bill to defeat it over side issues.

Nor do I.

As we saw with all the NAFTA, GATT, and the bank bailout (originally voted down in the House) stuff, pressure will be applied until the masters get what they want.

WASHINGTON - Chanting “Kill the bill,’’ thousands of conservatives incensed over the Democrats’ health care overhaul protested at the Capitol yesterday, arguing that the legislation amounts to a government takeover of the nation’s medical system....

The protest attracted many of the so-called Tea Party demonstrators angry with increased spending and an expanded government role under the Obama administration....

Republican leaders focused on what they said were the flaws in the Democratic bill, as they distanced themselves from Representative Michele Bachmann, a Minnesota Republican who is a hero to conservative and villain to liberals, [and her] invitation to Fox News viewers to confront lawmakers....

The crowd, including many older Americans, carried placards that ranged from pithy - “Free health care isn’t free’’ - to harsh. “Ken-ya Trust Obama?’’ said one, referencing the president’s African roots and claims by some that he was not born in the United States....

They were older, so what?

Does that somehow disqualify there concerns?

The demonstrators came to Washington to send a message to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid as they press ahead with health care legislation.

And they still can't hear us!

Democrats hope to pass the far-reaching legislation in the House tomorrow....

Yup, CRAM IT THROUGH on a WEEKEND when you are not looking, 'murka!

After the rally, Capitol Police arrested a dozen antiabortion activists angry about the bill outside one Pelosi’s offices on charges that included disorderly conduct and unlawful entry.

Damn right we are angry -- and with good reason!

"Health care headache for House Democrats; With vote possible today, still scrambling for support" by Lisa Wangsness, Globe Staff | November 7, 2009

After Pelosi said she had "well over" 200 votes?!!

WASHINGTON - Democratic House leaders scrambled to round up enough support yesterday for their sweeping health care overhaul, getting last-minute help from and White House advisers on the eve of a historic vote scheduled for today.

Amid signs of division in the Democratic ranks, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer acknowledged that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her team had yet to secure the 218 commitments needed for passage....

The floor vote may be postponed until tomorrow afternoon or even early next week....

Translation: They will EXTORT MEMBERS until they have enough, then they will call the vote!

You know, the SAME THING over which THEY CRITICIZED REPUBLICANS!

There were also signs of trouble from the left: Representative Eric Massa of New York, who supports a Medicare-for-all style insurance system, announced that he planned to vote against the overhaul package....

You mean the FORGOTTEN, TAKEN-FOR GRANTED LEFT may REVOLT?

WELCOME ABOARD!!!!!

The measure, which includes a controversial public insurance option designed to compete with private plans and pressure them to hold down costs, has garnered endorsements from an array of interests, including AARP, the seniors’ lobby; the Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports; and the American Medical Association.

Yeah, EXCEPT the PUBLIC OPTION is GOING to be MORE EXPENSIVE!!!

I'm SO GLAD my agenda-pushing "newspaper" is such a DECEPTIVE LIAR, aren't you?

House leaders want to pass the bill this weekend because it is so vast and complex that if they wait longer, members could raise new concerns and for Republican opponents could deploy fresh tactics to derail the effort.

Yeah, and IF WE FOUND OUT what was in it we would REALLY BE AGAINST IT!!!!

In the last few days, as thousands of conservatives descended on the Capitol to protest the legislation, and calls, e-mails, and letters have poured into Congressional offices, a procession of Blue Dog Democrats has issued statements opposing the legislation....

As the Rules Committee deliberated what amendments should be included in the bill late last night, Representative Virginia Foxx, the North Carolina Republican who earlier this week said Americans have more to fear from the health care bill than they do from terrorism, warned that expanding Medicaid would lead to more crowded emergency rooms. She cited a study that she said showed Medicaid enrollees used the emergency room twice as often as the uninsured....

Representative James McGovern, a Democrat of Springfield....

So is he from WORCESTER or SPRINGFIELD, Globe?

They are TWO DIFFERENT CITIES!!!

Readers, if THEY CAN'T GET THAT RIGHT....!!!!!!!!!

Update:

"Debate" has begun!

"House opens debate on historic health bill

WASHINGTON --President Barack Obama's landmark health care overhaul moved toward a vote in the House Saturday after anti-abortion lawmakers won a chance to knock out language that would let federally subsidized health care plans cover abortions.

Democratic leaders were hopeful they could pass the bill, giving Obama his biggest victory since last November's historic election, no matter how the abortion issue is decided.

Sit and spin on this finger, liberals.

Obama planned a rare Saturday visit to Capitol Hill in an effort to cement a majority to pass legislation that is certain to be seen as a test of his presidency.

The bill would cost more than $1 trillion over the next decade. It would provide health coverage to tens of millions of Americans who don't have it now, require most employers to offer it to their workers and prohibit insurance companies from denying coverage based on a person's medical history....

Is that what is in there? Really?

I'm so sick of the agenda-pushing lies!

Yeah, I guess I will be needing the crappy care after all.

The abortion agreement was reached at midnight Friday after hours of intense negotiations brokered by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. Democratic Reps. Bart Stupak of Michigan, Brad Ellsworth of Indiana and other abortion opponents fought for and won an opportunity to insert tougher restrictions into the legislation during debate, despite fervent opposition from pro-choice liberals who are a driving force behind the overall bill....

Yup, DONE in the DEAD of NIGHT when YOU WERE ASLEEP, America!!

And CHEW ON THAT FOR A LONG TIME, liberals!

You are SOOOOO TAKEN for GRANTED by your leaders!!!!

The leadership's hope is that no matter how the vote on the abortion measure turns out, Democrats on both sides of the abortion divide will then unite to give the health care bill a majority over unanimous Republican opposition.

So BEND OVER AGAIN, liberals, and TAKE a POUNDING!!!!!!

That butt must be so wide and worn out by now....

With Democrats' command of the necessary votes looking tenuous, Obama threw the weight of his administration behind the effort to round up support. He and top administration officials worked the phones to pressure wavering lawmakers....

Democratic leaders faced a series of complications trying to win the needed votes for their complex and controversial legislation that would affect one-sixth of the economy and touch the lives of countless Americans....

Yeah, so rush through the 1,990 page monstrosity like they did the Patriot Act, etc, etc.
