Multiple newspapers have called on Galluccio to seek help or resign following reports about one recent day in which Galluccio was so drunk that he couldn’t tell the bar manager who tried to drive him home where he lived. Instead, Cambridge Police drove him home. Thirteen hours later, the senator allegedly rear-ended a minivan carrying four people, leaving two with minor injuries, and drove away from the scene without stopping.
Galluccio, who has a record of drinking and driving, serves on the Legislature’s committee dealing with substance abuse....

He was first convicted of drunken driving when he was 17, in 1984. Governor William F. Weld pardoned him nine years later, so when he was suspected of drunken driving a second time in 1997, he was charged as if it were the first. After both instances, he was ordered to undergo alcohol treatment programs, according to records at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Then, in 2005, he was blamed for a four-car accident near Faneuil Hall, and witnesses claimed he was drunk. He was never tested for sobriety on the scene, and a clerk-magistrate, while concluding that he had been drinking, did not find enough evidence to charge him, leading witnesses and members of the public to decry what they viewed as political favoritism.
Seems like he has had a PROBLEM for a LONG TIME, huh?

His father, an Italian immigrant who went to Harvard on a scholarship, met John F. Kennedy at college and went on to serve as his congressional campaign secretary. He then worked on Kennedy’s Senate campaign and later served on the Cambridge School Committee.
Galluccio’s father died when he was just 11 and some close to him say he had a tough time as a result.

MEDFORD - State Senator Anthony D. Galluccio vowed yesterday to focus “on a number of life issues and personal issues’’ as he left court, but continued his silence about why he allegedly sped away from a crash last month after rear-ending a minivan carrying a family of four.
Yeah, 13 HOURS LATER -- which means he was BROUGHT HOME, PASSED OUT, and UPON AWAKENING, STARTED DRINKING -- he CRASHES INTO SOMEONE and FLEES the SCENE!!!!
Do you know what would happen if YOU FLED the SCENE of an ACCIDENT, Massachusetts citizen?!!!
The Cambridge Democrat, who has been convicted twice of driving under the influence of alcohol, has refused to say whether he had been drinking alcohol shortly before the crash the afternoon of Oct. 4 in Cambridge, which left a 13-year-old boy with minor injuries.
Well, the THIRD TIME means NO MORE LICENSE!!!!

In the new report, police said the manager of the Basha Cafe on New Street said Galluccio “entered the cafe at 2 a.m.’’ The nightspot is licensed to stay open until 1 a.m., according to city records. The report does not say where Galluccio was before 2 a.m.

Police said the manager told them that Galluccio “did not look well, so he made him something to eat, but did not serve him any alcoholic beverages.’’

Believing Galluccio was too drunk to drive, the manager decided to drive Galluccio home, was given the keys to Galluccio’s car, and spent a frustrating half hour trying to locate Galluccio’s home on Sunset Road. “While trying to locate his house, Mr. Galluccio kept falling asleep, and they were unable to find his residence,’’ police said.

Frustrated, the manager, whose name was redacted from the police report, pulled over at a Fresh Pond gas station and called police. Two officers then drove Galluccio to his home on Trowbridge Street, about 3 miles away from where they first encountered him.

Four protesters stood in driving rain outside court yesterday, saying they were trying to pressure the Legislature and the courts to hold the senator accountable. They held signs in clear plastic bags that read, “No more special favors’’ and “No more free passes for Galluccio.’’
