Students Trapped By Police and Patriots

I feel bad for the kids; I would have been excited, too!

"Five high school players signed on for what they thought was a team of students and officers to face the former Patriots. On game day, however, none of the officers showed up.... "

Just like in real life when you need their help!

.... the students left the game on Saturday demoralized after they said they were yelled at and roughed up by hulking men who made careers out of squashing their opponents"

I guess the STEROIDS were kicking in, huh?

Hey, all part of the kids' "education."

"Students say ex-Patriots played too rough" by Meghan E. Irons, Globe Staff | November 17, 2009

It was supposed to be a fun game for a good cause.

A team of students and police facing off against a squad of former New England Patriots players on a basketball court in Bolton.

But the students left the game on Saturday demoralized after they said they were yelled at and roughed up by hulking men who made careers out of squashing their opponents, according to town officials.... Tom O’Brien, athletic director for Nashoba Regional High School, which had five students in the game, said he received several phone calls and e-mails from parents irate over conduct of the former Patriots.

Yeah, I WOULD BE, too!

Look, us old men play hard around here, so much so that I think we intimidate some people we have asked who no longer show up. Yeah, we act like it is the seventh game of the Finals with our intensity (getting on the floor, etc., but when play gets rough people notice. WE DON'T PUT UP with that s*** from nobody!

He said he has held meetings with the five students who played in the game and were angered about the rough words and play from the former professional football players....

The game, held in the school gym, was sponsored by All Pro Productions, a Marlborough company run by former Patriots player Fred Smerlas. Smerlas could not be reached for comment yesterday, and calls to All Pro Productions were not returned.

You are kidding?! I'VE SEEN HIM ON TV doing the PATS PREVIEWS and SUCH! But, but, but... they are all a bunch of great guys! WTF?

The names of the former Patriots who played were unavailable last night....

Yeah, and the PRO-SPORTS, PRO-PATRIOTS Globe dropped this story right quick.

Patriots' Kraft Passes Checks to Patrick

No follow up on the basketball -- but it certainly explains the self-serving news choices down at the Globe!

Five high school players signed on for what they thought was a team of students and officers to face the former Patriots. On game day, however, none of the officers showed up, O’Brien said. The basketball coach and janitor played with the students, according to WCBV-TV.

Pats' players happy they smoked 'em good, huh? How come coach didn't say anything about the rough stuff? Or was he berated when he did?

The police association said it plans to review residents’ concerns with All Pro Productions, as well as its business relationship with the company. In the meantime, O’Brien said he has been trying to console his young athletes. “Had we known that the Stow police association was not going to be directly involved in the event, we would not have asked our students to participate,’’ he said.

Yeah, I'm sure they will remember this game the rest of their lives!

One wonders how their FRONT-PAGED HEROES of the Metro section could do that!

"Manning hangover lingers a day later" by David Filipov, Globe Staff | November 17, 2009

.... A Globe reporter donned the gear of recent Patriot killers, the Colts and the New York Giants, whose 2008 Super Bowl upset ruined what would have been the first perfect 19-0 season.

Yeah, this is the same guy they have
watching streetcorners and riding bikes around Boston for agenda-pushing purposes.

The Boston Globe Reporters' Hang-Out

No wonder the Globe is losing money.

And then there were the three guys in a sedan on Washington Street who spied the Colts hat on the head of the Globe reporter as he tried to drive out of a parking lot. They cut off his car, stopped, and stared.

First the bike, now that. Maybe this guy isn't getting paid enough.

He's RISKING HIS LIFE out there!

Oh, yeah, WELCOME to FRIENDLY Bah-stahn!

About that Colts gear: It’s not an easy thing to find a Peyton Manning jersey in Boston. The only ones available were at a Champs store in Downtown Crossing, and they were children’s sized.

Yes, the Globe's investigative reporters on the case!

And the atmosphere was not exactly welcoming for people who wanted to acquire one. At the store, some customers were jeering a man who happened to arrive wearing a jersey of the Colts quarterback. “I just got it because it matches my pants,’’ the man bleated plaintively....

Pfft!

Isn't that BULLYING?

Where is the ADL when you need them?

For my own part on the back end here, readers, I'm grieving a wee bit. I should be playing my own ball tonight; however, it appears the foot injuries may have finally taken their toll. It's hard for me to talk about, and the water starts a-flowing, because running that 90 x 50 or whatever was the one joy and escape I truly had in this world. Only twice did I let the outside interfere while playing.

What is even sadder is if I mention my injuries to my friends -- as I have in the past -- the self-centered assholes (such is AmeriKa these days) start complaining about THEIR INJURIES when I've suffered two broken fingers (one a thumb that broke skin, fixed by a fantastic surgeon at the ER. I got "lucky" that night); an ankle that has been destroyed by sprains (so much so that I'm keeping an athletic tape company profitable); and now a bunion problem on the same foot (injured in a freak accident at 2 in the morning).

I guess you have heard enough crying from me. Let's face it, the Patriot players would have killed me.
