"Obama skips Nagasaki, Hiroshima on Asian tour

President Obama leaves today on an extensive diplomatic tour of Asia with a busy schedule of meetings during nine days in Japan, Singapore, China, and South Korea.

Not on his itinerary is a stop in either Hiroshima or Nagasaki, where the United States dropped atomic bombs at the end of World War II. The mayors of the two Japanese cities had invited Obama, noting that he has pledged to pursue a world free of nuclear weapons and was awarded the Nobel Peace Price.

Sir, it is RUDE to DECLINE such an invitation!

But such a visit - the first by an American president in office - would be highly controversial and would inflame Obama's critics who accuse him of apologizing too much for the sins of US foreign policy.

Well, they ADMIT it was a SIN.

Now the next step is to say MASSIVE WAR CRIMES, MSM!!!!!!

Obama, however, did tell Japanese TV network NHK on Tuesday that he would like to eventually visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki during his presidency - he just could not fit it into his schedule this time.

That is SO WEAK!!!

He's the PRESIDENT of the United States and the LEADER of the FREE WORLD!

He can VISIT ANYWHERE he wants ANYTIME he wants!!!

They INVITED HIM to COME!!!!!

"The memories of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are etched in the minds of the world, and I would be honored to have the opportunity to visit those cities at some point during my presidency," Obama said in the interview.

What you doin' tomorrow, 'bamer?

"Debate over relocating Marine base opens rift in US-Japan ties; Deal agreed to three years ago put on hold" by Eric Talmadge, Associated Press | November 11, 2009

TOKYO - Political wrangling by Japan’s new government over plans to move a major US Marine base on Okinawa has opened a wide rift in Washington’s most important Asian alliance ahead of President Obama’s visit later this week.

The relocation of Marine Corps Air Station Futenma is the centerpiece of a sweeping realignment plan for the 47,000 US troops in Japan.... But senior American officials say that as long as the Futenma move is on hold, they can’t move forward with a bigger effort to reshape their footprint in the Pacific - including a plan to move 8,000 Marines from Okinawa to Guam....

The US security relationship with Japan is more crucial than ever, with China’s influence and military strength rising rapidly and North Korea honing its nuclear and missile technologies.... Washington and Tokyo agreed three years ago to move the airstrip, which is in a crowded city and for decades has stood as a symbol of the heavy burden the tiny island of Okinawa has to bear to support Japan’s military alliance with the United States. But in one of its first significant diplomatic moves, Japan’s newly elected liberal administration has put the whole deal on hold.

Yeah, who lost Japan, America?

Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, who took office in September, has refused to accept any deadlines for signing off on the deal to move Futenma to a more remote part of Okinawa. With no progress likely during his Friday meeting with Obama, he was expected to focus on Japan’s offer of $5 billion in new aid for Afghanistan and to discuss climate change and economic issues. Obama tried to smooth over the dispute in remarks before his departure.

“I’m confident that once that review is completed that they will conclude that the alliance that we have, the basing arrangements that have been discussed, all those things serve the interests of Japan,’’ Obama told NHK, Japan’s public broadcaster. Even so, the two sides remain so far apart on the Futenma move that Senior White House Asia adviser Jeffrey Bader told reporters Monday that Washington does not believe the base issue is “ripe for resolution or a focus’’ of the two-day visit....

They WANT US TO LEAVE, America!!!
