"4 students charged after girl hurt at party

Four Merrimack College students are to be arraigned in Lawrence District Court today, charged with providing alcohol to a minor, being minors in possession of alcohol, and keeping a noisy and disorderly house, following an underage drinking party during which a high school student was seriously injured, authorities said. The 17-year-old girl from Southeastern Massachusetts was in critical but stable condition at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.

Not as bad as hers.

She fell down some stairs early Sunday at the party, according to police and prosecutors. North Andover police responded to emergency calls about 12:20 a.m. and found the girl unresponsive and “in a pool of blood on the walkway’’ at the foot of the front exterior stairs. The four students, three from Massachusetts and one from Maryland, hosted the party at their off-campus apartment on Turnpike Street, police said.
