"Fired school chief wants $77,000 payout

Un-flipping-real!

The indicted superintendent of Lawrence’s schools wants $77,000 in compensation for sick and vacation days accumulated before he was fired last week, and the city may have to pay up.

What, he DIDN'T STEAL ENOUGH TAXPAYER LOOT?

He's LUCKY he is not COVERED in TAR and FEATHERS!!!!

School Committee attorney Naomi Stonberg told The Eagle-Tribune that Wilfredo Laboy wants payment for 51 vacation days and 42 sick days. Laboy’s contract specifies that accrued vacation time “will be paid upon separation of employment,’’ Stonberg said. She added that even though Laboy was fired legally, “we are still obligated to pay.’’

And you wonder why teachers, cops, and firefighters are being let go?

Just add it to the town debt the state is now overseeing.

Laboy has pleaded not guilty to fraud and embezzlement for allegedly using School Department employees and resources for his own purposes (AP)."
