Boston Boiling Over

Who can blame them?

Maybe the increased taxes and the take from such loot could have been better spent than on $800 MILLION in INTEREST on the borrowing for
biotechs even though "it's never been easy to turn a profit in biotech?"; hundreds of millions to PROFITABLE Hollywood so that you can pay police to protect the set; so green techs like Evergreen can suck more loot out of you before moving to China; and interest payments can be made on state deals of debt.

Yeah, suck on the STEAM, Boston.

And here, GULP DOWN SOME MORE BOILING WATER!

Yup, they DON'T BUILD 'EM like they USED TO!!!!!

Had enough, cough, gag, cough!?

Just curious as to WHEN you are NOT taken to the CLEANERS, taxpayers?

"Tunnel failure came before backup could be finished" by Beth Daley, Globe Staff | May 2, 2010

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority engineers knew it was a race against time to build a backup system to ensure Greater Boston residents have clean water to drink.

Yesterday, they lost.

Ever since the massive MetroWest tunnel carrying drinking water from the Quabbin was built seven years ago, engineers have been working on the pipe it replaced....

The MetroWest tunnel, part of a $1.7 billion water system upgrade, was celebrated as a state-of-the-art tunnel, but engineers — and government officials — feared a terrorist attack or some catastrophic failure to such a critical aqueduct....

The idea was....

Who cares anymore when it comes from you-know-who?

Joe Favaloro, executive director of the MWRA advisory board, which advocates for ratepayers:

“You don’t budget for catastrophic failures on pipes less than a decade old,’’ he said. “The irony is of course that the [much older] tunnel is fine. The piece that collapsed is less than a decade old.’’

Hey, wars and banks and corporations and pensions and health plans for public servants had to be funded first.

Sorry, readers; not into drinking a glass of the Globe today, if you know what I mean.

"A ‘catastrophic’ rupture hits region’s water system; 8 million gallons per hour gush from huge Weston pipe | Backup reservoirs tapped; 2m ordered to boil water" by Michael Levenson and Beth Daley, Globe Staff | May 2, 2010

Nearly 2 million residents of Greater Boston lost their supply of clean drinking water when a huge pipe abruptly burst yesterday, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency and to impose a sweeping order for homeowners and businesses to boil the untreated water now flowing from their taps.

Who is going to pay the increased electric bill?

Governor Deval Patrick said residents in Boston and 29 other communities east of Weston should boil water for at least a minute before drinking it to avoid the risk of getting sick. He also asked bottled water companies and the National Guard to help make clean water available to residents in the affected communities.

The crisis began around 10 a.m. yesterday when a 10-foot-wide pipe in Weston sprang a leak, which worsened throughout the afternoon and eventually cut off Greater Boston from the Quabbin Reservoir, where most of its water supply is stored.

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority said it could continue supplying water by activating a backup system that began drawing water last night from the Sudbury Reservoir, and can also tap into the Weston and Spot Pond reservoirs if necessary. The backup water, which one official compared with “untreated pond water,’’ can be used for bathing and flushing toilets, but not for drinking or cooking.

And wait until you SEE what is IN IT!!!!

Authorities said they were attempting to set up mobile units to chlorinate the backup water supply, but they cautioned that even so, the water from the backup system would not meet federal drinking water standards.

“This is everyone’s worst nightmare in the water industry,’’ said Frederick A. Laskey, executive director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.

Lot of those happening everywhere!

Oil gushing in the Gulf, floods in the south!

Local officials across the region were scrambling to warn residents about the potential for contamination. In Boston and other communities, police were driving up and down streets in cruisers, using bullhorns to blare boil-water warnings. At Massachusetts General Hospital, staff put up signs warning “Don’t drink the water.’’

**********

Not every community was affected. Cambridge, for example, has its own water supply....

The Globe really does live in a bubble.

Many questions remained unanswered....

And you won't be finding the answers in the newspaper.

So WHAT is IN the WATER, Globe?

"Residents, businesses race to adapt; water vanishes from stores" by Tracy Jan, Globe Staff | May 2, 2010

Boston police cruised streets, using bullhorns to warn people to boil water before drinking. In many other communities, residents received automated phone calls and fliers with similar instructions.

Supermarkets saw a run on bottled water, with shelves being emptied in hours.

A view of the future after the U.S. dollar finally exhales its last breath and the empire and economy collapse.

That is one thing I remembered from my history classes.

The U.S. is a beaten society like Jaoan and Germany after WWII, but it doesn't know it is beaten. It doesn't know that parasitic Israel has destroyed it from the inside, and doesn't know it's grand empire is teetering.

It thinks it rules the world as the world spins further and further from their grasp -- causing them to lunge after it even faster.

Nearly 2 million people in communities east of Weston yesterday were abruptly forced to change the way they’ve gone about performing routine tasks: turning on the faucet for a drink of water, brushing their teeth, even setting out water for pets.

That does NOT GO OVER WELL for ANYONE -- especially with populations who are fed-f***ing-up with the lying looters of government!

A catastrophic break in a pipe bringing water from Weston to dozens of cities and towns to the east meant residents must contend with untreated water from backup reservoirs for at least several days, perhaps a week, said Ria Convery, spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.

Okay, so WHAT is IN IT!!!??

Doctors were ordered to use bottled water to scrub up before surgery. Restaurants stopped serving tap water and ice.

All water to be ingested, including water used for cooking and making baby formula, should be boiled for at least a minute to kill potentially harmful bacteria such as E.coli and giardia, Convery said.

Boiled, then it has to cool down, sigh.

Emergency water reaching many taps was being channeled from open-air reservoirs such as Chestnut Hill and Spot Pond in Stoneham, watering holes possibly contaminated by goose and deer droppings.

I just thought you would want to know what was in the water, Boston.

At Stop & Shop in Lexington, customers filled the store, headed for Aisle 11, and emptied a 40-foot stretch of shelves of bottled water. Floor supervisor Eddie Domings sent as many co-workers as he could to the stockroom to fetch every available container of water....

That is interesting because I haven't seen anything on Shaw's since.... well, since the last time I posted about them.

Still on strike are they, Globe?

Dr. Rob Schreiber, physician in chief for Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale, said it has enough bottled water to last several days. The center, which has about 500 beds, was making sure the staff unplugged appliances, such as ice machines, that connect to the water supply so no contaminated ice was inadvertently served to patients, he said....

I'm bubbling and boiling this morning over the....

Actually, they are only serving what little readership they have left.

That stack of Globes on top of the table is the same that I see at the stores every day.
