Crazy Marty Coakley and Her Next Campaign

I'm sure she is a nice woman and all, but....

"She is running hard — against no one."

That is a joke, right?

"A Suffolk poll two months ago showed Coakley, the state’s attorney general, holding a commanding 31-point lead.... She even took a six-day vacation from campaigning in December.... She is happy with the way her campaign has been run.... Coakley seemed to scoff at the idea of shaking hands with voters at Fenway Park out in the cold."

"Conservative group used tweet strategy against Coakley; Wellesley College researchers study ‘Twitter-bombs’" by Matt Viser, Globe Staff | May 4, 2010

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Martha Coakley’s record was attacked in television ads, she was criticized during televised debates, and she took heat for apparently not realizing that Curt Schilling was a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.

Hey, SHE doesn't hang out at Fenway Pahk!

Thanks for the memories, Curt.

Apparently, the unsuccessful Democratic nominee for US Senate was also the subject of a stealth attack via Twitter....

Twitter the tool?

Another consultant for the American Future Fund, Ben Ginsberg, advised the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth group that hampered John F. Kerry’s presidential run in 2004. Ginsberg told the Globe in January that he was no longer affiliated with the group.

Oh, MARTY was SWIFTBOATED with a TWITTER TORPEDO, 'eh?

Because the organization is registered as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit, it does not have to reveal its contributors. A spokesman for the organization did not return messages yesterday seeking comment.

"Coakley calls on skating club’s former treasurer to repay $120k" by Stefanie Geisler, Globe Correspondent | March 24, 2010

Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office has gone to court to demand that the former treasurer of a Marlborough figure skating club repay about $120,000 in club funds allegedly spent on personal items.

Barry Eavzan, former treasurer of the New England Figure Skating Club, allegedly misappropriated funds to cover personal expenses.

Among the expenditures, according to Coakley’s office: about $5,000 on airplane tickets, limousine rides, and restaurants; $27,000 on rugs, shoes, lingerie, flowers, and yard mulch; and about $11,700 at supermarkets and drugstores.

NEVER GIVE ANY AUTHORITY a PILE of MONEY, folks!

“We allege that this defendant abused his authority to misappropriate tens of thousands of dollars of charitable funds for his own personal use,’’ Coakley said in a statement yesterday. “Through this action, we are seeking to recover the money that is rightfully owed back to the charity.’’

There is that old saying charity starts at home.

Eavzan responded yesterday that the lawsuit focuses on half-truths, and was prompted by backroom politics at the club.

“I don’t deny any of [the purchases],’’ Eavzan said by phone yesterday. “What I do deny is that they’re saying I bought them for myself or for my wife.’’

HA-HA-HA-HA!

Don't get your lying tongue tied in knots!

The club often brought in judges and skaters, and picked up the tab for airfare and limousine rides, Eavzan said.

“As far as any of those charges go, they’re all substantiated,’’ he said. “We have documentation and receipts.’’

From which friends who received how much in kickbacks?

************

Eavzan’s wife, Julie Graham Eavzan, founded the club in the mid-1990s.

Barry Eavzan served as the volunteer treasurer from 1996-2007.

Voluntarily helping himself to the loot, huh?

The organization drew the attention of Coakley’s office two years ago, after some club leaders expressed concern about possible financial inconsistencies.

In a state settlement last May, the club admitted to inadequate bookkeeping, acknowledging it did not keep accurate documentation of income and expenses....

Thieves tend to do that, yeah.

Shortly after Corey Abrams announced last month that he was running for a seat on the Revere City Council, a caller threatened to post pornography on a website he had created and called coreyabrams.com — unless the candidate paid him for the domain name.

Abrams, a married father of four, refused and within days graphic pornographic images appeared on the website, according to his campaign manager.

Last week, anti-Semitic and racist postings appeared on the site, including a doctored photograph of Abrams wearing a Star of David, which Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

The cyber attacks on Abrams have turned a barely publicized campaign for the Ward One seat into a criminal investigation and brought condemnation from local leaders.

Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office is investigating....

Yeah, she is busy running hard in her campaign.
