Massa Probe Touches Pelosi

Sort of sick when you think about it.

"House ethics panel opens investigation into Massa

WASHINGTON — The House ethics committee yesterday opened what it said will be a full and complete investigation into whether anyone covered up information that former representative Eric Massa sexually harassed male staff members.

The investigation will probably reach into the office of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Massa’s chief of staff met with an aide in Pelosi’s office in October — about five months before the New York Democrat resigned — to discuss Massa’s employee problems.

Leadership aides insisted those discussions did not include the harassment allegations.

Yeah, right! They wanted to cover it up and where hoping it would go away.

Also yesterday, Debra Katz, a lawyer for a former Massa staff member, said the FBI was investigating the case....

To emphasize the importance of the case, the four-member investigative subcommittee will be led by committee chairman Zoe Lofgren, a California Democrat, and ranking Republican Jo Bonner of Alabama. The case has political importance this year, as Republicans have tried to make the ethical conduct of Democrats a campaign issue — turning the tables on an issue that Democrats used successfully to win control of the House in 2006.

That seems like so many lifetimes ago, when we were all filled with hope.
