The search plan, involving US and Norwegian ships, covers about 770 square miles of sea, said Jean-Paul Troadec, chief of the BEA investigation agency. He said the approximately four-week search is the most expensive and biggest operation his agency has ever conducted and “one of the most complex undersea operations ever.’’
Troadec said the first search efforts after the June 1 crash, which killed 228 people, were not fruitful. Since then, “the investigation has stalled,’’ he said, because of a lack of materials from the site, including the black box flight recorders.
What do you mean the investigation has stalled?
We were already told -- despite no evidence and tons of contradictions -- that is was a sensor that was broken. I mean, millions have been spent on RETROFITS and REPLACEMENTS over that diagnosis (however implausible)!
The BEA chief said the start date would depend on the weather, and equipment would be put in place within days.
Investigators have said the crash was probably caused by a series of failures, but that they won’t know definitively without the black boxes.

The life span of the signal devices on the black boxes is only about a month, but officials say submarines and boats equipped with sonar gear can find the wreckage without such signals.
Then WHY TAKE a NINE-MONTH BREAK unless they PHONIED UP some BLACK BOX RECORDINGS to present to the world to validate the THEORY, huh, readers?
