INDIANAPOLIS - The event, at the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis, drew a crowd of about 35,000, sizable considering that Obama's campaign added the rally to its schedule a few days before.
It was the same setting where Obama gathered supporters - including Stevie Wonder - on the eve of Indiana primary in May, which he lost narrowly to Senator Hillary Clinton. John F. Kerry lost Indiana in 2004 by 20 percentage points, and the state hasn't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Lyndon Johnson in 1964. But a new Big Ten Battleground Poll, out yesterday, put Obama up by 10 percentage points in the state, which has 11 electoral votes. --more--"
