"Coakley, Brown in bitter debate; Exchange barbs on taxes, terror; Final face-off has sharper edge" by Matt Viser and Andrea Estes, Globe Staff | January 12, 2010
Meeting for their final debate of the US Senate campaign, Republican Scott Brown and Democrat Martha Coakley tried to capitalize on voters’ fears last night, with Brown raising the specter of another terrorist attack and Coakley warning about a return to Bush-era economic policies....
That's where he lost me. That and the defense of waterboarding (see links below).
“We are at war,’’ Brown said. “We’re at war in our airports. We’re at war in our shopping malls. I have to be honest with you, folks. . . . I’m scared at some of the policies that I’ve heard.’’
F*** YOU, Scotty!
WAKE UP to the "Al-CIA-Duh," will you?

"Al-CIA-Duh," right, NYT!What do you mean there is no Al Qaeda?
You mean Al Qaeda doesn't even exist?
“It’s naive to think that we have the troops to send everywhere,’’ Coakley said. “Let’s be clear who’s naive.’’
The spirited hourlong debate at the University of Massachusetts Boston, sponsored by the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the US Senate and moderated by political commentator David Gergen, took place at a critical time in the abbreviated Senate campaign, with voters set to go to the polls a week from today....

That's not really going to help, Bill.
And she suck as a campaigner.
It remains unclear whether Obama would visit Massachusetts on her behalf this weekend, but he recorded a Web video asking voters to rally behind Coakley’s campaign and lauds her work taking on “Wall Street schemes, insurance company abuses, and big polluters.’’
Yesterday, Brown sought to target Coakley for saying during a debate Monday night that the United States does not need to beef up its military presence in Afghanistan because terrorists are now concentrated in Yemen and Pakistan.... “It is from here that we were attacked on 9/11, and it is from here that new attacks are being plotted as I speak,’’ he said.
Are the "terrorists" LURKING, too, George?
But Brown, himself a judge advocate general, acknowledged that suspected terrorists have representation from taxpayer-funded lawyers like himself at military tribunals. “That’s fine; I’m satisfied with that,’’ he said.
And he is FOR WATERBOARDING and TORTURE, huh?
Brown made the distinction that in court, suspected terrorists could get “rights that they’re not entitled to, for example taking the Fifth, which a lot of them are doing.’’
I think this guy is dangerous! He doesn't even know his own laws!
Yesterday afternoon, Coakley toured the Joseph Abboud Manufacturing Corp. clothing factory in New Bedford, highlighting the need for more jobs in the state’s high-tech sector, fishing industry, and cranberry bogs. “There’s no reason that we in Massachusetts can’t be the leader in returning quality manufacturing back here,’’ Coakley said....
What, as people are leaving the state for China, Michigan, and North Carolina?
