Randolph police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who approached an 11-year-old on Thursday afternoon, grabbed her, and then ran away when she broke free.
The girl was getting off a bus at about 3:10 p.m. near the intersection of Lantern Lane and South Street when she saw an “elderly” man standing on a street corner, according to police.
Police said the man followed the girl, grabbed her arm, turned her toward him, and said he wanted to talk.
The girl broke free, and the man ran down South Street, police said. The girl was not injured.
The man is described as white, 5-feet-7, with white or gray hair and a small build, according to police. It is believed he was wearing a navy baseball cap with the letters B and R on the front, a red Boston Red Sox hooded sweatshirt, denim jeans, and brown flipflops.
