MSM Surrenders on Syria

The items they are carrying are now only briefs:

"Syria’s public sector lost $15b to war" Associated Press, July 01, 2013

AMMAN, Jordan — Syria’s civil war has laid waste to entire neighborhoods in the country’s cities and towns, destroyed much of its manufacturing base and infrastructure, and brought oil production and exports to a halt....

Meaning Assad may not have been toppled, but he is significantly weaker and will be stamping out terrorist brush fires for months if not years. Once again the agenda is advanced, if only partially. Time for a pause?

And about that oil. Turns out the chaos here and next door in Iraq prevents that Shi'ite pipeline to the Mediterranean is blocked. Who benefits of that one, 'eh? Starting to see why regime change was initiated in Syria?

Former Syrian planning minister Abdullah al-Dardari, who leads a six-member UN team drawing up a comprehensive postwar reconstruction plan, recently estimated the overall damage to Syria’s economy at $60 billion to $80 billion.

Already talking reconstruction. The war is over.

He said Syria’s economy has shrunk by about 35 percent, compared to the 6 percent annual growth Syria enjoyed in the five years before the conflict began. The economy lost almost 40 percent of its gross domestic product, and foreign reserves have been extensively depleted, he said.

Another side benefit to attempted regime change.

All this means is that the coverage is about to fade as the war becomes even more covert.

And if the death toll doesn't convince you of the need to invade, dear reader, maybe the involvement of this group will?

No? No more wars you say?
