Guerrero Got Back Into the United States

Immigration is a loser for Democrats and agenda-pushing corporate liberalism and thus the issue has been mostly dropped from the coverage even though it will likely decide many races:

"Harvard student stuck in Mexico gets new US visa" Associated Press   October 21, 2014

TIJUANA, Mexico — A Harvard University student who was stuck for months in his native country after crossing the border without permission is about to return to the United States. Dario Guerrero Meneses, who was brought into the United States illegally at age 2, was granted a visa in Tijuana on Monday.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Service had declared that Guerrero effectively deported himself when he crossed into Mexico without permission with his mother, who was seeking alternative cancer treatments. She died in August. The agency sent Guerrero a letter saying he had been granted humanitarian parole, which lasts for two years and does not give him legal residence or a clear path to US citizenship.

Guerrero plans to travel to Long Beach, Calif., to meet with his father and two siblings. He plans to return to Harvard next year.

Federal marshals said a suspect in a fatal shooting in Springfield nearly a year ago has been captured in Mexico. Daniel Spellacy, supervisor for the Springfield US Marshals office, told WSHM-TV that Julio Leiva was apprehended in Tijuana, Mexico, on Wednesday night. Leiva, whose address was listed as Framingham, is wanted in connection with the slaying last November of William Serrano. Serrano, 34, was shot seven times as he sat on the porch of a city home. Springfield police said at the time that Serrano was dating Leiva’s former girlfriend. Three others had previously been indicted in connection with Serrano’s death (AP)."
