Murder at Milford Motel

"Police are investigating a double shooting at a Milford hotel Saturday morning in which one person was killed and another injured, according to the Worcester District Attorney’s Office."

Worcester County prosecutors on Sunday identified a Hopkinton man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a gun fight outside a Holiday Inn Express in Milford on Saturday as well as a man who was injured.

Prosecutors identified the dead man as Thomas E. Coburn III, 51, and the injured man as Christian Nealon, 48, also of Hopkinton.

State Police responded to the motel at 10:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving reports of shots fired. They found the two men armed with handguns, according to a statement from Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Coburn allegedly confronted Nealon, 48, who was in the motel parking lot with a woman. The two men fired shots at each another....

All this over a woman?

Coburn was found in his car suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at Milford Hospital.

In a statement on Saturday night, Tim Connolly, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office, said the incident was “an apparent act of domestic violence.” Connolly said Coburn and Nealon knew each other, but would not elaborate further....
