Unlike the New York Times, which is an irresponsible warmonger.
The only problem is it has been turned upside down:
"It may be too late to help the Syrian Kurds, but not to send a message that there is still a branch of the US government that knows right from wrong....."
The Globe editorial staff, in complete devotion to the project, goes on to raise war crimes accusations against the Turks while distorting the situation on the ground. We are talking about a 20-30 mile buffer zone while Russia helps Syria reclaim their sovereign territory. The shrill hyperbole and buzz words no longer work. It's the boy who cried wolf syndrome with a never-ending stream of lies and distortions.
Of further interest is the omission of the theft of Syrian oil in the editorial diatribe, something that -- get this -- further dilutes the practical effect of the US pullout from Syria (you don't need to see his identification, these aren't the droids you're looking for, he can go about his business, move along). That's one reason I've stopped buying and blogging about the Globe. It's all smoke and mirrors and gaseous spew. There isn't going to be a pullout of U.S. troops, never was. The constant chain-yanking of the perception management that drives the agenda has become tiresome. How it will be paid for is another question.
Also ignored is the hand of the U.S. and its Sunni allies in creating, funding, and directing ISIS™, who has been stealing oil in collaboration with the Kurds for the last five years. It wasn't until the Russians bombed some of the tanker convoys that it ended (the oil was eventually routed through Turkey to Israel, btw) and is probably still ongoing anyway.
Today's World lead is no doubt connected to next door:
"Despite Iraq’s vast oil wealth, about seven million people live in poverty. For the most part, the protesters are part of a generation raised in the shadow of the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq. The political system that emerged in its wake — where power is shared among groups from various religious and ethnic sects — has entrenched widespread corruption, experts say, and left political connections as important ways for families to get ahead. This month’s unrest has largely been confined to poor neighborhoods, and participants are overwhelmingly male, but Muna Ali, 24, dressed in canary yellow and holding the national flag aloft, said her presence had been inspired by the images of women and girls participating in separate anti-government protests in Lebanon....."
It's the usual suspects pushing for regime change in Lebanon, and as soon as the Iraqis told the AmeriKans you can't stay the troops turned around and head back to Syria. As for Iraq, it sure looks like AmeriKa now -- a political $y$tem with widespread corruption where political connections help families get ahead amidst mass poverty! Mission accomplished!
Of course, some protests are completely ignored by the Globe, casting doubt upon those they do cover (apparently, some can flip their fingers at the U.N. without consequence).
What isn't ignored is, of course, impeachment. We will be getting a never-ending stream of salacious and titillating leaks and reports regarding the Mueller grand jury. Forget the report (what do you mean what report?). That ruling comes on the heels of the now criminal investigation of the Obama spying operation on the Trump campaign. That's why Obama has been largely silent about what has been going on. He did lecture about “kindness and compassion,” to which I respond tell it to the people you droned to death. Tell it to Libya and Yemen. Hell, when do we apologize to the Vietnamese?
The Globe's obsession with Trump continued a few pages later. He's doing remarkably well with black people despite being a racist who has misappropriated the term lynching (never mind that Biden used it on Larry King 20 years ago to describe the impeachment of the above #Metoo sexual predator Bill Clinton), leaving the few remaining Democrats with a dilemma that is being played down(?). If only the presidency were under new management (talk about self-serving!), and I doubt they will get to the bottom of anything (Kushner must be off limits).
The Globe is living on past glory as Epstein, Weinstein, Ed Buck, and Katie Hill are ignored. So much for the victims and their suffering, proving the movement was a political tool from the beginning. Women are being held in contempt and going to jail while men walk.
It almost drives one to vaping, but licensed marijuana companies have been hit hard by the loss of vapes, the second-most popular product in the legal pot market (just the Globe painting a picture for you). The whole scare has been suspicious from the start, and that sentence confirms that it is an attempt by forces that were against it from the beginning to nip the businesses in the bud and bankrupt the fledgling industry before it gets up and running. Had they chosen not to, the tobacco, booze, and pharmaceutical lobbying loot would have dried up. The issue only came to the fore after legal marijuana began to get a foothold, and it has successfully drawn attention away from the 150,000 dying from opioid addiction every year. The Sacklers are getting off scot-free, and don't you worry about poisons in the water.
Nothing left to talk about but the weather as this post reaches its end. I'm tired of the self-serving whining of the pre$$ because the Internet has disrupted the news industry business model and they are no longer the providers of the narrative with their hot air.
So when is the first plane to Cuba and the Good Life?
