"Price, WHDH part ways; News anchor cites mutual agreement" by Johnny Diaz, Globe Staff | February 8, 2009

Randy Price, the mustachioed newscaster [and] lead anchor at WHDH-TV (Channel 7) who anchored almost every major breaking news event for the past 12 years in Boston and one of New England's most familiar on-air faces, is leaving the station....

He became a popular on-air personality but viewers witnessed his personal issues surface. In 1995, police arrested him on a drunken-driving charge, his second. He pleaded no contest and attended court-mandated counseling.

Why did they have to bring that up?

Price then resigned from WBZ and remained off the air for a year as he sat out his contract. He used that downtime to refocus on maintaining his sobriety and construct the home in Kittery, Maine, that he now shares with his partner, Mark Steffen, a former chief financial officer for a malpractice company....

Did we really need to know this? It's called a PRIVATE LIFE for a REASON!!!

In 1996, WHDH hired him as a freelancer and that led to hiring him full-time in 1997.

Price was also popular for his work off-camera. He made headlines in 1990 as being the first openly gay broadcaster when he came out during a newspaper interview. He's been an advocate for animal rights and gay issues and has emceed local events such as the annual Men's Event fund-raiser for Fenway Community Health Center. He and Steffen married in 2007 on the steps of the State House in Beacon Hill.

I never knew this, and nor did I care. The guy READ the NEWS that was all I knew! I don't care if they are gay, straight, man, women, purple, green, or anything else!! ALL I CARE about is TRUTHFUL REPORTING!!!!

So much for the homophobia, huh?

Update:

"Same-sex couples use holiday to raise point; Marriage protests staged nationwide" by Verena Dobnik, Associated Press | February 13, 2009

They ignore and denigrate so many protests (save for the gays, global-warming cultists and illegal immigrant rallies) while covering this?

Pffffffffffttt! Right up the ole Hershey Highway, Globe!

NEW YORK - Hundreds of same-sex couples seeking to wed were turned away from marriage license counters around the nation yesterday, part of an annual protest that took on renewed urgency in light of recent setbacks in the gay marriage movement.

Yup, with ALL the PROBLEMS we have, GAY MARRIAGE is URGENT!!!

FORGET the TYRANNY of LIES, the FALTERING ECONOMY and the ENDLESS WASTE and WAR LOOTING!!

Activists in Manhattan wearing signs that said "Just Not Married" were part of a wave of demonstrations throughout the day at marriage bureaus or county clerks' offices from New York City to California, in communities large and small....

The ANTIWAR FOLKS never got such FAVORABLE COVERAGE!

In Augusta, Maine, dozens of proponents of gay marriage gathered outside the Maine House and Senate.... In St. Paul, where a same-sex marriage bill is making its way through the Legislature, dozens of people rallied at the state Capitol to show their support....

Yup, DOZENS!! Others turn out THOUSANDS or MILLIONS and ARE IGNORED or DISPARAGED by the AGENDA-PUSHING A-HOLES of the AmeriKan MSM!!!!

I'd say F*** YOU, but I don't go that way, sorry!
