NATO Protecting International Drug Trade Routes in Afghanistan

By now, the whole world knows those dirty, rotten, pious Taliban had nearly eliminated opium production in 2001. That was an ancilliary reason for invading Afghanistan: get that drug trade flowing again (with the organized crime aspect tracing back to governments and crime syndicates in Israel and the United States).

Then the feds take taxpayer dollars to fight a drug war" -- really an excuse for an arbitrary tyranny of selective prosecution (if the authorities wish it).

Keep that in mind as you read about NATO getting their panties in a bunch on this.

SINCE WHEN DID THEY EVER CARE ABOUT INTERNATIONAL LAW?

They SURE WASTE ENOUGH AFGHAN CIVILIANS!!!!

"NATO backtracks after leak about proposed strategy" by Judy Dempsey, International Herald Tribune | January 31, 2009

BERLIN - NATO was reeling yesterday after the leaking of a classified document in which the military alliance's supreme commander of Europe proposed that NATO soldiers serving in Afghanistan shoot drug traffickers and destroy drug laboratories without waiting for proof.

Sounds good to me! Of course, if you read the blogs (like I do), you would understand that their is a power struggle in the U.S. government between the Globalist order (along the lines of the Bush-Baker Crime Syndicate) and the Zionist controllers of AmeriKa's institutions (too vast and too numerous to name).

The proposal by General John Craddock, an American, was criticized by all political parties here for flouting international law and for trying to alter NATO's mission in Afghanistan. Such an order, they said, would signal a major shift in how the alliance deals with the insurgency and the opium trade that finances the Taliban and other groups fighting the 55,000-member NATO-led International Security Assistance Force.

Yeah, it would be a major shift -- and I am so sick of the lying. The SHIFT would be from NATO PROTECTING THE ROUTES to what Craddock says: fire away!

In a letter he wrote Jan. 5 to General Egon Ramms, a German who heads the NATO Command Center responsible for Afghanistan, Craddock said that it was "no longer necessary to produce intelligence or other evidence that each particular drug trafficker or narcotics facility in Afghanistan meets the criteria of being a military objective."

Well, AmeriKa never does; just ask Saddam Hussei.... never mind.

In his reply, Ramms questioned the legality of the proposal, which he contended would violate international law and the law of armed conflict. General David McKiernen, US commander of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan, also objected to the proposal, which was leaked Thursday to Spiegel Online....

*****************

Craddock drew up the proposal for dealing with opium trafficking after a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Budapest in October, during which they agreed to destroy any drug laboratories "and facilitators" who supported the insurgency.

But that strategy was arrived at by all 26 alliance members only after opposition from Germany, France, and other countries. They feared that NATO would be dragged into a situation in which communities that depend on the opium trade for their livelihood would turn against NATO.

Translation: the CIVILIANS that LIVE THERE would be UNHAPPY if you DESTROYED their LIVELIHOOD and WAY of PROVIDING for their FAMILIES!!!

Good thing Amurkns don't feel that way; we'd have chaos in the streets!!!!

And don't worry, AmeriKans. Look away because PROBLEM SOLVED!

(How stoo-pid do they think we are?)

"UN predicts drop in Afghan drug crop

KABUL - Afghanistan's production of opium poppies will probably decrease in 2009, but cultivation of the illegal crop remains entrenched in the country's most unstable southern provinces, a UN report said yesterday.

The falling price of opium and rising price of wheat - along with drought and pressure from the government - cut production in most of the country in 2008, the UN's Office on Drugs and Crime said in its annual winter survey.

Drought?

On top of all the other suffering -- the freezing, the starvation, the wounding, the death -- the people I love so much way up in those hills had to deal with DROUGHT, TOO?!!

Ah, my heart!

The survey anticipates a further decrease in opium cultivation and yields this year.... "This year could be a turning point," said Kai Eide, the top UN official in Afghanistan. "A major reduction is within reach."

Yeah, right, sure, uh-huh!

"And since this industry is so intimately linked to crime, corruption and food insecurity, the effects could be wide-ranging and very positive," he said.

"Food insecurity" = HUNGER!!

Stop it with the damn EUPHEMISMS, MSM!!!!!

And it's also THE WAY THEY PROVIDE FOR THEMSELVES!! STRIP AWAY the INCOME and you have MORE INSURGENTS on your hands!!!

Maybe it would be nice if the PEOPLE got a CUT of those DRUG PROFITS, 'eh?

Afghanistan remains the world's largest producer of opium, the main ingredient in heroin, accounting for 90 percent of the world's production. The United Nations said last year that up to $500 million might line the pockets of Taliban fighters and criminal groups.

Yeah, those "criminal groups" are CIA, and THEY MAKE a WHOLE LOT MORE!!!!!

"The drug money is also a lubricant for corruption," Antonio Maria Costa, the chief of the UN drug office, said in the report's preface.

Then SHUT DOWN the BANKS!!!!
