"RI teen shot by police in critical condition
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. --The landlord of an 18-year-old man shot by police in his apartment over the weekend says the teen has a history of mental illness and had agreed to go to the hospital for help just before officers arrived.
Mark Kilcline remained in critical condition Tuesday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Police making a well-being check shocked Kilcline with a Taser, then shot him after they said he refused to drop a knife and charged at police.

A friend's mother called police, saying Kilcline was upset. His landlady, 72-year-old Muriel Muller, said the teen was on medication for depression (AP)."
