Google Execs Did Good

Eat your ever-loving hearts out, America.

There is so much money out there; how come you never get any?

"Google executive gets $1.64m bonus" by Bloomberg News | March 4, 2009

SAN FRANCISCO - Google Inc., owner of the world's most popular search engine, gave vice president Jonathan Rosenberg its biggest bonus in 2008 as the company reduced its total executive bonus pool by 6.2 percent amid slowing growth.

Rosenberg, who handles product management, was awarded $1.64 million under the executive bonus plan, according to a filing yesterday. The next-highest recipients, who both received $1.38 million, were Robert Eustace, senior vice president of engineering and research, and Omid Kordestani, senior vice president of global sales and business development.

Google is grappling with a slump in online ad sales during its first recession as a public company. The company replaced its holiday bonus of $1,000 last year, opting to give mobile phones instead. Google has cut costs by shutting businesses and eliminating jobs.

Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, along with chief executive Eric Schmidt, don't participate in the bonus plan. The amount of executive bonuses slid to $6.3 million from $6.7 million. The bonuses are based on both individual and company performance.
