In Israel's Neighborhood

I thought as long as I was there....

See:

So who can they pick a fight with?

Egypt:

No, they seem to be overly servile when it comes to serving Israel -- from sealing the border to Gaza and establishing a steel wall to this overt fawning over:

"Egypt to pay for restoration of synagogues" by Associated Press | March 10, 2010

What, not enough poor and hungry people to care for in Egypt?

CAIRO - Egypt will shoulder the costs of restoring the country’s Jewish houses of worship, the culture minister said yesterday, two days after a historic synagogue in Cairo’s ancient Jewish quarter was rededicated in a private ceremony.

Farouk Hosny said in a statement that his ministry views Jewish sites as much a part of Egypt’s culture as Muslim mosques or Coptic churches and that the restorations would not require any foreign funding.

Then why do they dump on Christians?

See: Egypt's Garbage Dump

And here they are, Muslim Egypt(?), bending over backwards for the Zionist Jew.

On Sunday, the Ben Maimon synagogue, named after the 12th-century rabbi and intellectual Maimonides, was rededicated in a ceremony that included half a dozen Egyptian Jewish families who long ago fled the country.

Or were driven out.

Hosny committed his ministry to restoring all 11 synagogues across Egypt, three of which have already been renovated. The best-known synagogue, that of Ben Ezra, is located in Cairo’s Christian quarter near a number of old churches and was restored years ago.

The ceremony at the Ben Maimon synagogue was closed to media, but attendees said it was an emotional event, especially for the Egyptian-Jewish families invited, many of whom now live in Europe....

Of course, we all know why this made the *ewspaper.

I get tired of the bias, but that's all they are left for readership.

A group of Hassidic Chabad-Lubavitch rabbis also came to Cairo from the United States and Israel and sang at the event.

Hate to say it, but as we saw in Mumbai, Chabad houses are staging grounds for Zionist false-flag operations -- and here Egypt is bending over backwards for them.

You guys forget the Lavon Affair?

Egypt’s Jewish community, which dates back millennia and at its peak in the 1940s numbered about 80,000, is down to several dozen, almost all of them elderly.

Do I look like I care?

The rest were driven out decades ago by mob violence and persecution tied in large part to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Yeah, the BELLIGERENCE and MASS-MURDERING ASSAULTS and ATTACKS over the last 60 years have really hurt the Jewish image.

Obviously, Israel doesn't give a s***.

Egypt and Israel fought a war every decade from the 1940s to the 1970s until the 1979 peace treaty was signed.

Yeah, ever notice Israel needs to attack Muslims every two years or so?

It's almost as if they have an addiction to Muslim blood, and can't go for long without drawing some somewhere (in addition to the constant siphoning of Palestinian blood -- and organs).

Besides, Muslims and Egyptians are too focused on this (or so I'm told by the Zionist AmeriKan MSM):

CAIRO - An Egyptian court yesterday threw out the death sentence against a multimillionaire former legislator convicted of paying millions of dollars to a retired police officer to murder a Lebanese pop diva, a case that riveted the Arab world with its mix of fame, money, and politics....

I guess YOUR MEDIA is just a s***ty as ours, 'eh Arabs?

The case also highlighted shifting power dynamics in the Arab world, as the authorities from the oil-rich United Arab Emirates pressed for the prosecution, forcing Egypt to put on trial a prominent member of the most elite stratum of society. Egypt does not allow citizens to be extradited, so it held the trial here.

Now, faced with its own severe economic crisis and the high-profile assassination of a Hamas operative in Dubai, those dynamics have begun to shift again, perhaps easing the outside pressure on Egypt.

Israel Dives Into the Dubai Shark Tank

Yeah, that is really turning into a nightmare for poor little Israel there.

“The decision could be correct, but there is no doubt that the general perception will be that it was his money and connections that did it,’’ said Osama el-Ghazali Harb, a political analyst, of the decision.

Courts are the same everywhere, huh?

When the former legislator Hisham Talat Moustafa, a wealthy, politically connected businessman, was convicted and then sentenced to death, those facts were cited as proof that Egypt had an independent judiciary and that even the rich and powerful were held accountable. With the decision to throw out the conviction, the reverse was immediately alleged, fueling the widespread sentiment that any rich, politically connected Egyptian can live outside the law.

Bush and Cheney are still walking around, right?

“I think the regime has a degree of sympathy for Hisham Talaat Moustafa for all the obvious reasons,’’ said Fahmy Howeidy, a political analyst and writer.

Moustafa, a former chief executive of Talaat Moustafa Group Holding, had an estimated net worth of $800 million in 2007. He was one of Egypt’s largest real estate developers and a member of President Hosni Mubarak’s governing National Democratic Party....

All the right connections!

"Rally in Lebanon marks Hariri’s killing" by Associated Press | February 15, 2010

BEIRUT - Tens of thousands of flag-waving Lebanese gathered in Beirut’s main square yesterday to mark the fifth anniversary of the assassination of former prime minister Rafik Hariri, a killing that sparked a cascade of political turmoil in the Middle East.

Turnout from across the country was huge but estimated to be less than in previous years - perhaps a reflection of the serious rift within the ranks of the pro-Western ruling coalition, now headed by the slain Hariri’s son, the current prime minister.

This year’s anniversary also comes after Prime Minister Saad Hariri reconciled with neighboring Syria, whom he has openly accused of killing his father in the 2005 truck bombing. The 40-year-old Hariri now heads a unity government that includes Syrian-backed politicians who had been part of the political opposition.

Has Saad Hariri Finally Figured-Out Who Killed His Dad?

Yeah, I think he has.

Also note how the U.N. investigation that attempted to pin the blame on Syria went nowhere, readers.

Hariri spoke of a new stage in Lebanon’s relations with its neighbor.

“In all truth, honesty, and responsibility, I am keen on keeping this window open, and on building a new era in Lebanese-Syrian relations, from one sovereign, free, and independent state to another,’’ he said.

Rafik Hariri’s death was followed by the rise of a US- and Saudi-backed alliance that became known as the March 14 coalition, named after a day of massive anti-Syrian protests dubbed the Cedar Revolution.

"Syria denies concealing nuclear activity" by Associated Press | March 5, 2010

VIENNA - Syria yesterday denied hiding nuclear activities from the world and said Israel was the source of suspicious uranium particles found at a Syrian desert complex bombed two years ago by the Jewish state.

Oh, I CERTAINLY BELIEVE THAT!

Yup, ANOTHER SET-UP, this time SYRIA!!!

The Syrian comments to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s board of governors were strongly backed by Iran and made in response to Western demands that Damascus stop stonewalling IAEA attempts to investigate suspicions that it ran covert nuclear programs - some with possible weapons applications.

While Iran remains the main focus of the board, Syria’s refusal to allow IAEA inspectors into the country for a follow-up visit to sites possibly linked to secret nuclear work was the focus of yesterday’s closed meeting.

A recent IAEA report prepared for the board said for the first time that uranium particles found at the desert facility destroyed by Israeli warplanes in September 2007 indicate possible covert nuclear activities at the site.

Ever notice Israel can BOMB WHOEVER it damn well pleases and the world DOES NOTHING?

The finding lent backing to Western allegations that the bombed target was a nearly completed nuclear reactor that Washington says was of North Korean design and meant to make weapons-grade plutonium.

What does it mean when a lie lends backing to a lie?

Delegates inside the meeting said Syria’s chief IAEA delegate offered a new theory yesterday: Israel dropped uranium particles from the air after the bombing to implicate his country.

Yeah, or PLANTED THEM in the SOIL!!!

Either way just as good for you-know-who.

"Iran, Syria deride US for its efforts in Mideast" by Howard Schneider, Washington Post | February 27, 2010

JERUSALEM - The presidents of Iran and Syria are ridiculing US policy in the region and pledging to create a Middle East “without Zionists,’’ combining a slap at recent US overtures and a threat to Israel with an endorsement of one of the region’s defining alliances.

Meant to inflame the patrons of the paper; however, music to my ears.

Until they start behaving like human beings and not psychopathic monsters that's the way it is going to be.

The Obama administration is trying to build an international coalition behind economic sanctions aimed at curbing Iran’s uranium-enrichment program, which the United States and others fear is aimed at developing nuclear weapons.

Just so you know the TIME FRAME for WORLD WAR III, folks!!!!

The United States also recently announced that it will send an ambassador to Damascus after a five-year absence, part of an effort to weaken Syria’s relations with Iran and discourage the country’s support for militant groups antagonistic to Israel.

Yeah, AmeriKa can NEVER make a DEAL without having SOME DIVISIVE, AGENDA-PUSHING, ULTERIOR MOTIVE!

It is what the Zionist AmeriKan MSM calls "negotiations."

But the message delivered Thursday by Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a joint news conference was sharp and spoke to a shared sense that Iran is gaining influence in the region despite US efforts.

Or BECAUSE of THEM, right Zionist AmeriKan MSM?

Ahmadinejad said: “.... instead of interfering in the region’s affairs, to pack their things and leave.’’

Yeah, yeah, but he's a demon so you can not believe a word he says.

And the Zionist press will prove it in the next sentence.

Ahmadinejad, a Holocaust denier, spoke of Israel’s eventual “demise and annihilation’’ and said the countries of the region could create a future “without Zionists and without colonialists.’’

NOTHING WRONG with that last part; however, they MUST have MISTRANSLATED the FIRST PART!

He has NOT DENIED the Holocaust, he has simply QUESTIONED the allegedly established numbers and Zionist-based accounting of such events -- as MANY OF US DO NOW!

The WORLD is WAKING UP, Israel!!

You have OVERREACHED and if you CONTINUE on your present path this is EXACTLY the END for you -- and no amount of newspaper propaganda is going to help you!

Assad also criticized what he regarded as the United States’ “new situation of colonialism’’ in the region, with troops on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, and pressure on Syria to split from Iran, a friendship Assad emphasized was secure even given Syria’s faltering economy.

Another FAILED U.S. POLICY!

Thanks, Israel!

"Saudi woman sentenced to 300 lashes, jail" by Bloomberg News | March 4, 2010

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - A Saudi woman who filed harassment claims in Saudi Arabia without being accompanied by a male relative has been sentenced to 300 lashes and 18 months in jail, Human Rights Watch said.

Sawsan Salim lodged a series of complaints in 2007 at government offices and in court in the northern region of Qasim in which she accused local officials of harassment, the rights group based in New York said. She was sentenced in January on charges of making “spurious complaints’’ against government officials and appearing without a male guardian, the group said in an e-mailed statement received yesterday.

“In Saudi Arabia, being a woman going about her legitimate business without a man’s protection is apparently a crime,’’ Nadya Khalife, women’s rights researcher at Human Rights Watch, said in the statement. “The government needs to free Sawsan Salim and keep its promise to end this discriminatory system.’’

Saudi Arabia, which maintains a code of Islamic morals, said in June at a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva that it would end the male-guardianship rule, said Human Rights Watch.

The system requires women to get permission from a male relative to go to classes, work, travel, open a bank account, or receive non-emergency medical care.
