Putting a Veil Over France

Placed there by a Muslim-hating, Zionist War Media.

Just remember, readers, that veiled women are responsible for all your problems.  Not bankers and the mortgage frauds they foisted on everyone that ruined the world economy, or the liars pushing wars that are bankrupting you.

"Veil law protest brings 61 arrests

PARIS — Paris police said yesterday that authorities arrested 61 people — including 19 women — in connection with their attempt to hold an illegal Paris demonstration against France’s upcoming ban on face-covering Islamic veils. A top Paris police official said 59 demonstrators were detained while trying to protest at Place de la Nation in eastern Paris, and two others were detained while attempting to travel there from Britain and Belgium."

Where's the democracy and free speech, huh?

"French ban on veils prompts defiance; Law stigmatizes Muslim women, opponents say" April 12, 2011|By Camille Rustici, Associated Press

PARIS — France’s new ban on Islamic face veils was met with a burst of defiance yesterday, as several women appeared veiled in front of Notre Dame Cathedral and two were detained for taking part in an unauthorized protest....

Good for you, ladies!!

The plans for a ban prompted protests in Pakistan last year and warnings from Al Qaeda. It also has devout Muslim tourists skittish, since it applies to visitors.

Oooooh, CIA-Duh!

Authorities estimate that at most 2,000 women in France wear veils. France’s Muslims number at least 5 million....

Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.

And most of them are FRENCH CITIZENS not IMMIGRANTS!

The ban affects women who wear the niqab, which has just a slit for the eyes, and the burqa, which has a mesh screen over the eyes.

See: French Dating Game

Police said the law will be a challenge to enforce.

I guess French police have nothing better to do.

Emmanuel Roux of the police union SCPN said police have been instructed not to use force to remove the veils, and that if a woman refuses to remove it, the police officer is to call the prosecutor for further legal action. Only in very extreme cases, he said, would a woman be jailed for refusal to remove a veil.

Yeah, sure. They only arrested a bunch for protesting.

Pieces that got cut from print:

Public opinion in Paris on the morality of enforcing the ban appears mixed.

“It’s not a racist law. It’s just a law that is coming from the history of France and so you need to accept it if you want to integrate into France and with French people,’’ insisted Laurent Berrebe, an economist walking in central Paris on Monday.

He's right because being Muslim is a religion, not a race.

It's still a law born out of hate.

Nurse Olfa Belmanaa is opposed. “We are in France, we are in a democractic country where everyone has the right to do what they want. If they want to wear a veil or go competely nude that’s their right.’’

:-)

Maybe I should move to France.

Police on Saturday arrested 61 people for attempting to hold an outlawed Paris protest against the pending ban.

I notice the newspaper really giving scant attention to that.  How interesting. When women are to be used as a tool they are promoted by the paper; when they are part of the "problem" their concerns are minimized. Interesting.

Items that were covered by the printed Globe's veil:

Kenza Drider, who lives in Avignon and wears a niqab, calls the ban racist. She was planning to attend Monday’s protest.

Right before the ban came into effect, she said she would continue to go “shopping, to the post office and to city hall if necessary. I will under no circumstance stop wearing my veil.’’

I'm just wondering why a Muslim woman in France has more balls than AmeriKans.

And here i$ what the new law i$ really about:

"Woman near Paris ticketed over face veil" April 13, 2011|Associated Press

PARIS — A woman has been ticketed in a suburban Paris shopping center for wearing a face veil, the first reported sanction under a new ban on the garments, police said yesterday.

This as the French are told they need to can their comfy lifestyles so bankers can get paid.

And EVER NOTICE the WAR INTERVENTIONS and OCCUPATIONS are NEVER a PROBLEM for the French budget?!!

Now look who the French are trying to make pay for it all.

Where is the WORLD CRITICISM for OPPRESSING WOMEN?

Another woman in another Paris suburb was stopped for wearing a veil, but was let go with a warning.

The inconsistent response illustrates the challenge for towns with a large Muslim community in enforcing a law that some view as Islamophobic.

Aren't you SO GLAD the French cops are wasting time on this?

Better not be a "terror" attack in France anytime soon.

Though such veils are very rare in France, many of the country’s 5 million or more Muslims see the ban as a stigma. Islam is France’s second-largest religion after Catholicism.

Yes, this has been blown WAY OUT of PROPORTION and would seem to serve some OTHER AGENDA!

The ban also has been criticized by Iran’s government and activists in Jordan.

Oh, well, if Iran criticized it it must be a good law.

President Nicolas Sarkozy says such veils imprison women....

I was JUST WONDERING what DROPPING BOMBS on them in LIBYA and AFGHANISTAN was DOING for THEM?  IMPRISONING THEM in a GRAVE?

"France to issue guide on secularism" April 16, 2011|Bloomberg News

PARIS — France plans to distribute booklets detailing the precepts of secularism, described as a core value by Interior Minister Claude Gueant, as President Nicolas Sarkozy prepares a reelection bid....

Yeah, THAT is what all this is about! An ELECTION YEAR DIVERSION!

Don't talk about those issues I raised above. Veer off into silly social issues like the U.S.

"France bars surrogate twins’ citizenship" April 07, 2011|Associated Press

PARIS — Ten-year-old twins born to a surrogate mother in the United States are not French citizens, France’s top court said in a ruling that affirmed the nation’s ban on surrogacy.

A California county’s ruling that a French couple are legally the twins’ parents went too far, the decision said.

The ruling illustrates the legal limbo some would-be parents find themselves in....
